5 year old Cooper Cobras cracking…… ?. Anyone else? ?

Thanks for the kind words. I like knowing that whatever discoveries we all make can benefit others as well.

5 year old Cooper Cobras cracking…… ?. Anyone else? ?

I bought my first set of Nittos for this car in 2003. Around 2014 I was having vibrations in the car and took the wheels off to take to America's tire for rebalance. They wouldn't touch them. They looked excellent. Zero evidence of age, no cracks anywhere. When I replaced those tires, I looked...

Peel out more so the tires wear out before they crack.

Will 2000 Ford Mustang wheels fit 1966 Satellite ???

I've read from guys on the A bodies site (FABO) that use spacers/adapters when they mount up the Mustang wheels, This was to push the wheels out off the hubs for clearance and appearance reasons.

Will 2000 Ford Mustang wheels fit 1966 Satellite ???

Nope. Ford kept the standard 5 lug 4 1/2" circle for Mustangs and for awhile, Ranger and Explorers.

Will 2000 Ford Mustang wheels fit 1966 Satellite ???

Don't trust random people on the internet. Do the work yourself. Measure your stock wheels and see how much clearance you have, in short....where you can add additional width or diameter. Measure the other wheels to see where they differ in width and diameter. From there you'd know what you can...

    Replacement wheel studs help.

I didn't pull the axles to press the studs in. I pulled them into place with a lug nut as shown in the picture. They didn't just slip in easily, it took an impact wrench to get it done. I have at least 1500 miles on the setup and the car rides smooth.

Anyone successful with 275's on the front of 2nd gen charger?

Each corner of my car is unique, it turns out. The design of the wheel and width is specific. I didn't plan for that, it just worked out that way. My rims have a 5 spoke design that twists. The front wheels are narrower than the rears so I actually do have a left front wheel, right front and so...

Anyone successful with 275's on the front of 2nd gen charger?

Then you'd need less back spacing on the rear wheels to push the wheel out more to match the front. The quarter panels bulge out more than the fenders, from what I have noticed. I run a 10" wide rear wheel, a 9" front. This gives that "square stance" you may be looking for.

Anyone successful with 275's on the front of 2nd gen charger?

There is a guy that used to post at Moparts by the screen name Rylis Pro. He had a 305 series tire in his '70 Cuda, all four tires too! I don't know what modifications he did. That is 30 millimeters wider than me. I could fit wider if I ran more negative camber to tilt the outer edge up and in a...

Anyone successful with 275's on the front of 2nd gen charger?

The body is stock. The frame rails are stock. I've made no cuts. I do have 1.15" torsion bars which do help to prevent extreme nose dive. I have the battery in the trunk and the 440/495 is lighter due to aluminum heads, intake and water pump housing. I don't think you could fit this size tire...

Anyone successful with 275's on the front of 2nd gen charger?

I wanted a NASCAR look for my car, the type where the tires look stuffed under there.

Why not? 275-40-18 on an 18 x 9" rim with 4 3/4" back spacing. Same size years later, different tread pattern. They fit, they clear and do not rub.

Can someone tell me something about These rod bearing?

I think that those are part numbers and references to the location of manufacture. Look at other parts of the bearing or the other halves. Stock bearings that I have seen have the name of manufacturer, the date it was made and the size. STD .010 .020 .030.

I must be charmed. I've had numerous flats in my pickups but never lost a tire in a nice car. I had tires go flat in these though.... One of these events: .....resulted in this:

Should i replace or roll the dice

This happened to a friend of mine: I shot the video. I'm not sure of the age of the tires but they started wobbling so he pulled over and ended up having it towed. This was on a 2 post lift near his home. He was driving 70-75 and the car started feeling weird to him. He had it towed to a shop...

    Wheel spacers

I think that the worry about "hub centric" is overblown. There are lots of trucks that came with wheels that were not hub centric and they carry far more loads than cars do. I had a '78 Trail Duster 4WD that had those common 10 spoke steel wheels like these: They are lug centric. There never...

    Replacement wheel studs help.

Why do you need them so long? Are you running a drag car or some super thick spacers? Here is what I used on my own car, it isn't a drag racer build though. Stock length was short and didn't allow enough thread contact with my aluminum wheels. You can see the shiny replacement in the...
