    Engine Timing Question

Thanks! It's been a great car to learn on. My first pre 1980s car. I love Belvederes. Thinking of selling the Fury soon, I have mostly done all I want to it. I have my eye on a Barracuda, but the wife says no more than one project at a time!

    /6 Holley 1920 Tuning

Photos attached. You can see some float particles. If it clogs and floats are $100+, I may just scrap it and find a new carb..maybe when with a the thermostatic choke, wouldn't that be nice ;)

    /6 Holley 1920 Tuning

Rebuilt the carberator and running much better now. Thanks for all the tips. I noticed that the float had some bubbles and was beginning to deteriorate. I looked around online and they are going for $100, which I do not think is worth the investment in a holley 1920. Anyone know of a place to...

    /6 Holley 1920 Tuning

Hey All, I have been trying to tune my Holley 1920 with a manual choke on a 225 slant 6 motor. (Photos attached) I bought the car about a year ago and have been slowly restoring it. Overall pretty good shape. The car is driveable. I will be performing a compression test on my cylinders shortly...

Slant 6 Valve Cover Gasket Opinion

Thanks for the info about MMO, I will try that. In regards to the gasket I had an issue. The instructions says explicitly 40lbs of torque to fit the valve cover back on. Used a torque wrench and tried tighting up the screws to that specification after 1st run and broke off the head of two...

Slant 6 Oil Sludge! All over!

Just pulled the valve cover to replace a gasket and saw that I have valves that are covered in oil sludge. What could cause this? Is it worth addressing? I work from home and have limited resources and knowledge. Any information would help though! Pictures attached thanks!
