BUSHING. Automatic Transmission, Manual Transmission, Mounting, Right Hand...
When you changed the brake
shoes you've effectively
changed the required
volume of fluid in the
master.
Thicker shoes/less fluid.
Did you notice any fluid
leaking from the master
cap during the bleeding
process? On a single pot,
it may be benificial to
leave the master cap off
when bleeding the...
45 ft/lbs is with new
hardware. Bare in mind
that once torqued, those
bolts have stretched some.
The standard is 5 ft/lbs over
for bolts that have been in
service. If you don't know
the installed torque value,
you're better off replacing
with new stuff. Also, check
the service manual, as...
Used to be that brake shoes
were ground down to match
the curve of the drums. It
wouldn't surprise me if it
was found that the shoes
are contacting the drums
only on the high spots.
Cheaply built chinese junk
and all.
Pull the drums and make
sure the shoes are making
full contact.
"Disc doesn't require the rcv but drum does."
Not to be contrary here, but
all that rcv does is hold a
a constant (not cumulative)
pressure to minimize pad
travel to engagement of the
disc. Over 5 lbs causes
problems. I run 2lb rcv's
on the front. No problems,
on a 4 disc system.
I lean towards...
All Rick is saying, that if
you are willing to take the
time, and enjoy the hunt,
that you're not tied down
to using ready made kits
available from trusted
vendors. Evidently, they've
done the homework, and
offer kits available more so
for those that want a quick
and easy conversion.
What the...
"Go to a hydraulic shop and have them make what you need."
Agree with @Jerry Hall
The shop may not have to
make a custom hose
for you, and may be able to
suggest different fittings
or adapters needed to
complete your installation.
In the interest of engineering
alternatives, you can bail if
you wish. But the chassis we
designed requires no roll
center adjustment. It's fixed
via weight calculations
around a roll center that
remains constant. The only
suspension system that
allows for your requested
adjustment for roll...
I am in 100% agreement
that the OP should make an
attempt to upgrade his
braking system for safety's
sake. It won't detract
from the cars value, and
certainly could save
someone's life.
What caught up with us is
the initial design was for a
strip runner. We ordered
Koni drag shocks (circa
2001). They're not the
best for the street, and
the performance can be
felt. Strong on jounce,
soft on rebound.
Gotta wait 'til I'm a few
bucks richer to get some
better shocks.
Hold the head with a
wrench. Blast the nuts with
penetrant.
Break out the 1/2" drive
impact, an extension, and
a wobble socket.
They'll either come loose
or twist off. In which case
you can drive 'em out with
a punch and replace with
new. Don't fight it.
Years of working on stuff
as much as 80...
I left the Jacob's ladder off
the list mainly due to this
type axle housing control
"system" being mainly used
on sprint cars with the ability
to raise and lower roll
centers, though they do offer
suspension adjustments as
well.
Sprint car chassis are
narrow, and as such,
limit the lengths of...
It's how we designed the
brackets that mount the
link bars to the frame.
The links use the same
rubber as the 4-link bars.
The Watts Link bars
help to reduce axle housing
rotation as well as keeping
the housing centered.
The chassis we built was
initially designed for strictly
strip use but ended up
designing for street and
strip, which added quite a
bit of build time.
Novice to Mopars drivetrain
we pulled an axle out from
under a Dodge Diplomat
police cruiser and shortened
it by 6 inches.
The 4 link kit we...
