I have 2 aftermarket underhood setups one each with OEM under dash and one all new.
The all new setup works the best, far better fan speed even though the OEM one I run power off a relay direct to it.
I agree with temp probe cut out, I've actually seen it work on my fury.
I've also done the relay fed high speed fan and installed a new motor in the fury and rebuilt the heater box but it's still no where near as strong as the aftermarket fan in my charger.
I'm guessing I said it in here before, I have 1 of each - full oem, OEM with sandan and new condenser, and complete Classic. The classic works far better in my cars at least, heat and air. I've put a new motor in my fury and driven it off a relay to get direct power and still very unhappy with...
Are you taking under hood or under dash? Does the car not have it's oem heater box anymore? My charger is all aftermarket and it works great, my fury is oem under dash and modern underhood and works pretty well. Neither is 5.7 though the fury will be some day.
One thing I did when embracing the modern compressor and all soft lines was route them so it's easy to remove the system to yank the engine without having to open the system like many of the hog-tied oem layouts do. I can just unbolt the compressor and lay it over on the fender.
You'd be ahead to just use an oem one, they have so many models with different mounting, you'll waste time trying to make that free one fit when the right one bolts on immediately
I think only the one is different and then the rest all look the same? I sure don't remember parting out so many ac cars and can't remember where they came from.
Thanks
