With dye induced into the system, wait until it’s dark outside, turn off all lighting and take your black light and go over every inch of hose, condenser, and compressor. You might be surprised at what you find.
Good stuff Bob! I have a question for you as seem to be very knowledgeable regarding thermodynamics. Wouldn't a big block Mopar engine run a bit cooler if only the cast iron heads, and the cast iron water pump housing were replaced with aluminum components being aluminum dissipates heat at a...
I'm not disagreeing with you Bob, but I've never known of anyone having cooling issues with a big block Mopar. Maybe I didn't know some were using Flowkooler water pumps? I have known of many folks who have had trouble with cooling systems on 400c.i. small block Chevys' due to the larger bore...
Nothing that I have ever owned (currently 6), and including my .030 440 with 10.62 compression and pump gas street driven regularly in Tennessee heat, has ever had a cooling issue so I’m good with NAPA. For future reference if I ever think I have an inefficient water pump I will look at a...
I did look and I no longer have a bracket at all. It sounds like from previous posts' that what I had wouldn't work with your compressor anyway. I hope you find one soon!!
I had something like that at one time but not sure if it would be the same. If I still have it, it is from a 1975 440 out of a New Yorker. I will try and take a look tonight for you.
I remember that too. I believe it was an issue with an area being bottle necked. I contacted 440Source before I bought and they assured me the issue was taken care of long ago.
I’ve had one from 440Source on my 440 engine for over 10 years without issue. My pump outlet is drivers side and, if I remember correctly, 440Source was the only option at that time for drivers side outlet pump housings.
I want to switch for the potential horsepower gain. It is a street car that is not caged but is a 10 second car on nitrous. The car is "correct" only in appearance with the hood on and has lots of hidden go fast components.
I have an aftermarket flex fan on my 69 road runner and I've been reading horsepower gains are to be had by switching over to the Mopar Performance Viscous Fan Package. I'm thinking of investing in one (P4120758) and getting an aluminum water pump and housing to lose some weight up there as...
