To answer your question, I’ve had work done by Bill, Special T’s Unlimited. 847-255-5494 Top notch work, but you pay for it. He has always been at the Indy swap meet, March 7-8. You can see the quality of his work there.
My 2 cents... If the engine needs gone through, trans and rear end needs gone through, at least resealed. Been sitting? Brakes will need attention. Said suspension was taken out and cleaned, any new parts installed? No? Figure on a complete suspension rebuild. Really not trying to discourage...
I’ve bought a couple of Spectra tanks through Rock Auto. You might check their prices against what’s on eBay. There is a member on here selling the original heavy duty lock rings, much better quality than the flimsy reproduction ones. Don’t remember who at this time.
It’s your car, it’s your money, do what you want to with it. Personally if I wanted to buy one, I’d rather have a nice Belvedere, Satellite, or Coronet than a clone, but I wouldn’t turn one down if it was done right and the price reflected it. Just my opinion.
Both look nice from the pictures. I personally prefer the '69. My question would be why clone? Just changing some badges and trim. I'd pay more for an original Coronet 500 than I would a cloned Super B or R/T.
It should pop off the shaft like Jim said, unless it's rusted on. Then you'll probably have to use a puller. They aren't very expensive. The pulley can be bent easily if you get too rough with it.
I watched the videos in your earlier thread, I have the same cam in my engine. The exhaust note doesn't sound much different from mine, but my engine doesn't shake like yours. I have the poly lock engine mounts which are fairly stiff. I don't know what mounts you have, but if they're some soft...
You might look at Wildcat Auto Wrecking in Sandy Or. 503-668-7786. They specialize in Mopar parts for used parts. Pick up a copy of Mopar Collector's Guide magazine, most of the part sources advertise in there.
