    6000# Towing Capacity 0n 74 Charger?

I don't worry so much about the ability to pull the trailer. I worry about stopping the trailer. Do they have brakes in them?

Good bye highway gears. Hello 3.55

I don’t drive it for extended periods on the freeway. I don’t recall the rpms I was turning. It is much more snappy though with the deep gears. I did have a 4.10 gear in the other car and 3800 rpms at 65-70 is really annoying.

Good bye highway gears. Hello 3.55

I think that the 383 needs a deeper gray just to get rolling. The 383 has a stroke barely longer than a 318 or 340 so it needs mechanical leverage to make power. The 383 in Jigsaw is a 9.2 to 1 mill with mildly ported heads and a MP 280/474 cam. With a 3.23, it felt slower than my 72 Duster...

Good bye highway gears. Hello 3.55

If the axle is a 8 1/4", the gear was a 2.71. The 2.73 was never offered in any Mopar. The 8 3/4" axle could be had with 2.76 gears. Gears do make a difference. I suspect that they may have a bigger impact on cars with shorter stroke engines. My 383 in Jigsaw felt sluggish with 3.23s but felt...

    Front sway bars

Like other things, if it isn't there, it was possibly an option that wasn't chosen.

rarest of the rare '73 Charger Convertible

That Charger front end on the 4 door was a picture from some big show back East. You can see they made the front door blend with the fender and even integrated the scallops. I'm not sure why they painted it an almost flat sheen, maybe to sort of make it look like a "survivor" type car...

Hey, if YOU like the 71-74 B body styling more than any other model, good for YOU. I won't try to convince you that you're wrong, I just don't agree. When I look at cars and the different models/styles/designs, I do try to understand why some models sold so many more units than others. The '70...

It is a matter of preference. You like bologna, I like beef. Some like beer, some like wine. Guys like me and other 68-70 Charger/B body owners prefer women, other dudes prefer other men.

Do people here really call you a "bore" ? You seem okay to me.

    Emergency brake cable

Technically it is a “Parking” brake. Some have barbed edges that snap into the body of the pedal machinist. Others have a small sheet metal clip/wedge that needs to be driven out.

    LS swap ?

That is 395 through manifolds, catalytic converters and a full exhaust system. Run that same mill through headers. 3" pipes and low restriction mufflers and it could be a 430 HP engine that idles smooth and makes incredible power and mileage.

A stock stroke LA 360 with a roller cam is a great engine to build. The 5.9/Magnum version has the roller cam as well but is fitted with better flowing heads. I have a 318 out in the shop that I'm tempted to add a 4" stroke crank to make a 390. That would be a potent mill that looks as simple as...

    LS swap ?

One thing that may come as a surprise is that MOST old cars were NOT muscle cars. There are some people that fondly remember the past but often remember it WRONG. The overwhelming majority of old cars were just everyday transportation just like today's cars. The legendary ones were out there but...

    LS swap ?

I usually place members on ignore for a number of reasons….one is when their writing skills match the stylings of a 14 year old girl texting her friends. Trying to sift through garbage is a waste of my time. I’m ready to add yet another member to the ignore pile.
