Just a guess here but to cut costs as they always seemed to do, I'd suspect there to be a type of primer only with some random body color overspray near the headlight door openings and underneath.

1970 Chargers use electric headlight door motors. I figured the SuperBird may use the same design.

THose are electric, right? Did you recently add relays for the headlights?
