What type of carb, and float levels?
I would also check the needle(s)
and seat(s). If it were bad gas you'd
have noticed it on the way home
since the pickup in the tank is near
the bottom. Gas floats on water.
Hello, @Kern Dog
Though you point out some
possible noise causing
areas, bear in mind that
Cadillacs, Lincolns, and
Imperials of the same year
as your charger, rode
whisper quiet while sporting
the same traights as you
point out, that may be
suspected noise causers.
If I may ask;
Have you...
Know what you're sayin'..
My nephew is a nuclear
engineer. (Navy, reserve).
My other nephew (same
mom), is a mechanical
engineer with a national
laboratory.
My ego likes to think I may
have had some influence in
that respect.
No apologies necessary.
I can relate to the relentless
deadlines. As a mechanical
engineer faced with placing
our best available combat
vehicles on the front line.
Our troops at the start of
the gulf war were getting
hammered with small arms
fire, IED's, and RPG's, in
vehicles designed at WWII...
Hard to put a like to this as
to your life and health.
But I do place a like on your
past rememberances. No
VCR's then, and just barely
into the realm of color TV.
Our household still utilized
a rotary phone. What's
really odd, is I still remember
the phone number.
I've had a few cars shipped.
Each time slammed with
phone calls. It's a cutthroat
business.
Those carriers that charge
the lower prices are volume
haulers with the big rigs. You
are at their mercy for time as
they get 8-10 cars lined up to
move.
I've also moved a couple of
my own using just a...
Agree, Dadsbee. I was only
offering the redneck
solutions that have worked
for me in the past. Shrink
wrap is cheap, and it works.
Of course, the best
alternative is just to replace
it with a new one.
The shrink wrap will hold it
tight. I've used this on two
seperate antennas. When
installing, it's best to find
the antenna position that
still allows for best
reception. The only time I've
found where the antenna is
lowered completely is when
going thru a carwash. In
such cases, I merely...
Adjust it to the height you
want and apply shrink wrap
to each joint. 3/4" on
either side of the joint works
well. (Been there). You will
lose it's telescoping
functionality.
From your pic, I don't see a
Phenolic spacer under the
carb. Could be heating up
the fuel in the bowls once
the engine gets to temp.
Another item to check
would be the pick-up
screen in the fuel tank.
Could be clogging up with
gunk floating around at the
bottom of the tank.
Attitudes change with the
times. You gotta remember
this series competed with
other series such as
Dragnet, Bewitched, I Dream
of Jeanie (oh Barbara Eden),
Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason.
Much simpler times of no
computers, no cel phones.
The way back machine.
Who here remembers
the series "Then came
Bronson" with Michael
Parks?
As a teen, I never missed
an episode.
Harley, open road, freedom.
Though a somewhat soft
demeanor.
There was just something
about this series that played
to a young man's heart.
You know what they say....
Opinions are like.....
Fords design of the Boss 9
won them exactly 1 more
race during NASCAR
sanctioned events where the
mighty 426 and 429
competed against each
other. Though Ford came
up with their own version
of the Hemi long after
Chrysler.
4 doors on a Charger...
