"Next month or two"....
Ha ha..,I hope for your sake, it works out that way. So often, our projects take a BACK seat when we take them to shops for this stuff. The term Paint Shop Jail sure has been used a lot.
Not meaning to piss on your hopes and plans!
The color...Some purists may dismiss it...
Welcome to the site. You'll find a HUGE difference in traffic here compared to that other site. People are helpful. The moderators are much more reasonable and fair here too.
I was a member of the registry there but the site owner chose to lock me out of the forum. I tried to stoke the fires...
Welcome, Jim.
This site has some great members that will go out of their way to help others. We love pictures and enthusiastic members. If you are willing to clearly state what you need, you'll get help.
The site has a few rules they put in place to make things run smoothly. If you are searching...
Welcome to the club, Victor.
Your engine is too early to be known by the metric/liter measure. They started that with Mopars in the early 90s.
That 73 engine would be known as a 360. They can be great engines.
Do try to make it up to Van Nuys for the show this weekend. Woodley Park Saturday...
Welcome, man...
How well do cars hold up in the Philippines? Is it really humid and do cars rust out easily?
I was blown away when I read this:
7,641 islands
The Philippines is an archipelago that comprises 7,641 islands, and with a total land area of 300,000 square kilometers (115,831 sq...
Welcome to the site.
I don't own the internet but I have to state that THIS site is by far the best one for sharing information, getting help with problems and finding parts.
It is good that you found us. Feel free to post some pictures of your car, no matter the condition. We all have been...
I have my nicer one in a closed shop. My others are outside but this is California where it doesn’t snow and humidity isn’t an issue.
Car cover?
Pffft!
I probably should though.
Prescott.....
I hear locals pronounce it Press KITT. It is clearly spelled with an O in the name. A guy from Phoenix made an excellent point...The people in Scottsdale don't tell people that they live in SKITTSdale, do they?
Ha ha....The man validated what I was thinking.
Carry on.
Welcome to the jungle, man.
I'm with you on the haggard part....
I call this car "Jigsaw" because it was being parted out, I bought it as a partially stripped carcass and I'm piecing it back together with pieces from several different cars.
Good luck to you.
Maybe I've been in a cocoon for awhile but I paid $800 the last time I went through a whole big block. For that, the man bored and honed the block, went through the heads, ran the stuff through their hot tank for cleaning and swapped the pistons on the rods. I assembled it. $800. In 2022 I went...
Old cars didn't have the equipment breakdown as easily accessible as newer cars do.
Documentation only tells you what the original build was. Previous owners may have changed things in the 50 years the car has been on the road.
Originally, there was some type of metal tag attached to the...
There was no 2.73 gear ever offered in a classic Mopar. The 8 1/4" axle got a 2.71 though. That seems to be a common ratio. I've had 2 '70 Chargers with that axle and that ratio.
This is true, though the 2.45 ratio wasn't too common until 1974. For some reason, the 8 1/4" axle had some oddball...
You have some company. There are some old and dumb members here too.
Kidding, of course. Most members are not stupid.
There are some great people on the forum. I am often impressed at how helpful many of the members are.
Help is just a few clicks away here....posting questions often results...
Welcome to the club!
The California emission laws require cars to be emission compliant as they were built BUT they only test the model year 1976 and newer cars and trucks...(New cars don't get tested until they are 5 model years old)
1974 and 1975 are still exempt from testing.
1970 though...
