    Lookie what $5000 buys you....

It’s like Carlisle, sellers want $50 but put $500 on it then get dickered down to $200 and the buyer thinks they got a deal! If all walk away then price drops fast especially on Sat night.

    383 engine oil dipstick tube - O-ring?

There is no O ring. The 3/8" steel tube is supposed to be a slight interference fit into the block.

    383 engine oil dipstick tube - O-ring?

Press fit into block, no seal, no o-ring. Use some sealer on it. Good luck getting it out, unless you use a punch from below.

    Throttle cable question

It has a rubber washer to seal it and an E clip to secure it in the bracket. The bracket bolts to the firewall with 2 bolts on top and 2 studs and nuts below, both from engine side. It is sealed with a white foam gasket. Other than that I'm not sure! Lol

    Lookie what $5000 buys you....

Ha ha...Yeah, sure.... There is a member here that advertised a set of recovered '70 Charger bucket seats for some obscene price, something like $3600. I understand their rarity but scalpers piss off everyone.

    KYB vs Monroe vs Bilstein?

    Yeeah baby!

This is the stuff I bought at the Mopar driveway sale.

What’s the phrase? One person’s junk is another’s treasure? On occasion I’ve bought old mopar stuff that I recognized as an unusual find and bought it even though I couldn’t use it thinking someone is going to be wanting it badly for their restoration. Bought a rectangular steering wheel out of...

    KYB vs Monroe vs Bilstein?

I've probably run every shock made for these cars, and I'd say it all depends on how picky a person is about the ride quality, what type of use they typically see (drag, corner-carving etc) and how much dough they have to spend. As far as the ones mentioned by the OP, KYB = cheap with a harsher...

Getting Vacuum to test box ??

My heat a/c box was rebuilt some time back. Also my vacuum switch was rebuilt. I am trying to test before installing. All of the vacuum lines are connected to the actuators etc. If I put my thumb over the inlet that plugs into the vac switch, I get vacuum (see pic). If I hook to the vacuum...

    Tornadoes

Back in 2011 a tornado, fortunately one low on the strength scale, traveled in line right over my house causing a lot of trees down in my neighborhood. The tree on the property line behind my detached garage fell north onto my neighbors garage, instead of south, onto my then 3 year old three...

    383 engine oil dipstick tube - O-ring?

Hello, All - 383 HP engine: does the oil dipstick tube have an o-ring seal where it fits into the block? The Chrysler parts manual shows the tube but not an o-ring. Thanks!

    A518 in my 1968

There is no direct fit 518 for a big block. Small block, 3.9 v6, diesel/v10 only. If you want to use one of those, you'll need to lop off the bell housing portion and use a TransBell from JW Performance or a plate style adaptor. There will be fit complications to deal with as the od unit is...
