FWIW I think the 1968 to 1972 HP big block exhaust manifolds are the same dimensionally (head pipe location). So, the same exhaust pipes can be used. In other words, pipes in and for a ’68 B body will bolt up to any of these '68 to '72 HP exhaust manifolds.
That's one tuff rr you have. I like the color and the Keystone wheels, but most of all those chrome valve covers! You don't see those factory (Direct Connection) chrome valve covers a lot any more.
Glad to see the interest in this!
Steve has it exactly right. You really have to build it yourself. Parma sells (or used too) sell ready to run drag cars. They had a super 16D motor, Edge chassis, and Lexan body. To be competitive and run consistent you have to spend some time setting up your...
The video is not working for me. That track looks very smooth and flat with wide lane spacing. It sure looks better than the tracks I’ve raced on. I bet it’s a lot newer too.
Sounds like a cool place to race. Yes, post pictures of your dad's stuff, I'd like to see it. The vintage stuff is a lot of fun. That's how I got into it years ago. I was looking for parts for a couple of HO scale slot cars I had and ended up buying a Parma RTR Coronet drag car in 1/24 scale...
Cool car Steve!
I like the blue and the lug nuts on the front wheels. I dug out my old cars and took some pics. There were 4 classes to race in bracket, lexan, hard body, and unlimited. You could run anything in bracket class but the car must be faster than 1.399 or you DQ. Brackets used a...
I used to be into this big time a few years back at a place called Lucky Bob's near Milwaukee. I got pretty good at it. I moved and now I live out in the middle of nowhere and Milwaukee is 3 hours away. I'd like to build a 1/24 scale drag strip in my basement. I'll post some pictures of my cars...
Thanks for the information gentleman. How do you know what means what? How do you decode the casting information? Is there a book or a website that explains or decodes them? I have only been able to find decodes for the fender tag VIN and build sheet.
Basketcase,
I have another 1969 rr that is...
Casting Numbers and symbols
The intake casting number is 2806301. Above the casting number is a “Penstar” a “2” and a symbol that looks similar to a “triangle with a circle” in it. Below the casting number is “1 2 X 8”. Next to the casting number to the left in the photo is a symbol with ten...
1968 Numbers Game
The first thing to do is find out what I have. I have started recording the numbers on the car and parts. I’m pretty sure the car is mostly original. I still want to go through and check what parts are on the car and all the other parts I have collected over the years sitting...
This is my project car. It is a 1968 Plymouth road runner sedan with a 383 engine, 4 speed. I think it is a numbers matching car with the following options; power steering, deluxe interior, sure grip rear end, power disc brakes, am 8 track player, chrome package, tinted windows. I was hoping the...
