    Help value a Roadrunner clone

This was my buddies car as it was a 71 Roadrunner clone. The VIN says it was a 318 Satellite or Belvedere but my buddy never checked the VIN before he bought the car as he was told it was a real 383 Runner with the 440 + 6 added. Had the 440 + 6 in it and was a very nice car. He sold it...

    MSD Ignition question ..

On my sons Dart we run a stock Mopar dist I recurved with the MSD 6AL and it works good. I agree with all as I would run the vacum advance on your mild street car. Ron

Do TTI headers fit as well as I've heard?

I always use bolts as to me they work better and are easier to work with on my 63. One header bolt hole on each header is elongated (oval) and you have to start that bolt first and then slide the header down some to start the other bolts. It just dont work to good with studs to me as I think...

    Charger vs Roadrunner

No disrespect taken. And yes a 383 Roadrunner in good tune could and did beat 440 Chargers sometimes. And the 440 beat many 383's and Hemi's as it just depended on tune and driver. I always here how a 340 Dart could beat a 383 Runner and I agree some did and some 340's got eaten for lunch...

    Charger vs Roadrunner

You never saw a Roadrunner out perform a Charger ?? I saw it all the time. Not all Chargers were 440's and I have seen 383's beat 440's before. First the Roadrunner is a lighter car then the Charger and they were pretty close when both had the same eng of course but my money would be on the...

    Charger vs Roadrunner

I agree the second gen charger are great looking cars and I love the 68 best. I would not hesitate to own one. I just hapen to really love Roadrunners also and I really love the look of the 69-1/2 6pk cars. But I think it was great the way the 68 Charger shocked the auto world with its great...

    Charger vs Roadrunner

Its only fair to compare the performance versions of the cars with the eng that came standard and any upgraded optional eng. And the 69 Roadrunner blew away all other Mopars in sales at about 84,000 as that makes 18,000 R/T's look puny. And if we compare how many got the Hemi the Roadrunner...

    Charger vs Roadrunner

As I said before I like them both but I do favor the Roadrunner and here is a few reasons why: - - - Updated - - - Thes 69-1/2 six pk cars are one the best looking Mopars ever sold to me. Ron - - - Updated - - - I love the 70 Roadrunners and GTX's also. I know these are not the 71...

    Charger vs Roadrunner

They are both great cars. I like the 68 Charger best as I like the round taillites and the 68 grille best and that 68 Charger really set the auto world on its ears with the change to that slick coke bottle look. The 68 sold way more then the 66 & 67. As for Roadrunners I have always loved...

To 340 or not to 340: That is the question.

Myself in a B-body I like a bigblock. You know if you get a 400 you can build it anyway you want. Most swap in the 440 crank for 451 cubes and a stroker crank works real nice. But its your car so you have to do what will make you happy. Ron

    Timed vacuum or manifold vacuum?

If you have black smoke its to rich at that throttle position as at 34 total it should not blow black smoke or backfire thru the exh. The timing off a little will not cause black smoke as thats only from to rich which of course is to much fuel or not enough air. You may have something else...

    Timed vacuum or manifold vacuum?

I notice I am seeing more and more guys running locked out dist and even some do it on the street. But it does depend on your combo as what works best for you. Ron

    Timed vacuum or manifold vacuum?

Alot depends on the combo. Just about all stock Mopars used ported vacum advance from the factory. What many dont realize is ported or timed vacum is actually manifold vacum but its from a port above the throttle blades so it wont put any vacum to the vacum advance untill you step on the gas...
