The washers and spring clips would actually allow it to hit worse due to the slack in between the clip hole and washer. I had it tight in the pictures. I’m just scrapping this thread. Everyone is more concerned that I mentioned the brand of the rod than actually helping. I never posted anything...
It’s nothing some beating and bending can’t fix. .I just wanted to make sure I didn’t have something wrong. .my 68 charger was old enough to vote before I was born so I didn’t grow up around these things
I ordered these from dan himself and told him everything I was using and doing to the car. I know it’s not correct for a 68. I have a faceplated racing 4 speed that I am putting in the car. I can’t call brewers tonight. I was planning on installing now
I’m running an 8 3/4 in my 74 charger with 3.91 gears. .but I have a 512 ci motor. Excellent tire roasting ratio up to about 55 mph. Then it hooks and pulls like a rocket. Those are nice street gears in my opinion. At 60 mph with 275/60 r15 tires I’m turning about 3000 rpm
If big block torque hooked you, then stroke the 400 to a 512 and it will blow your mind. 400 blocks have thicker cylinder walls than a 440. This only matters around the 650 hp range
It's beyond awesome. .pump gas also. .power brakes work great. .one is in my 74 charger se. .i have a manual valve body 727 trans in it with 3.91 gears. .roast the tires all the way to 55 mph. .my 2nd 512 is in my 72 charger se. .we just started that car 2 days ago for the first time, so it...
I've got 2 512 motors but they are built by stroking 400 blocks. .much thicker cylinder walls. .ive got stealth heads on one and sidewinder on the other. .870 4 barrel carb on each motor. .540 cam I believe
No problem! At least you know how the car was originally setup! Maybe some of them got 11" rear drum brakes but on all the 73/74s I've been around have never had anything bigger than 10"
I found some info on those sequence numbers. .my 74 is different because it's a 74..but 056 stood for 400-4 barrel without ac in 73. 988807 stood for axle ratio and transmission .i haven't found 988 but the 807 stands for b body 4 speed. .if your first three numbers were 992 then it would have...
I know what the headers cost. I have the entire engine. .you can't build a 426 to a 612 that would last.this motor has the heavy duty Indy maxx block, crank, cam, everything. .i wanted a street/ strip possibility but I have heard these radical heads may be tricky in s stock car. .also I wanted...
I'm wanting to build this 612 hemi that I have in pieces but I've heard that these particular Indy hemi heads are the full on race version capable of 1000 plus horsepower. I have also heard they are a son of a gun to put into a b body because there is only 1 set of tti headers that will fit...
I also had him mix up tb3 (corporate blue) for my 72 and up big blocks. I used to use rattle cans, but after seeing the real color applied with a paint gun there is no comparison
