Well, mine are not post pandemic, but bought new from wheel vintiques about 2015. The chrome is still great. A few chips on black from changing tires 3 times since then. I notice no vibrations and I drive 70+ on the highway. Just my experience .
The only conclusion I draw from the article is maybe lug nuts loosening over time or a possible vibration issue since the wheel is not concentric with the hub or axle ? I’ve run mine likely 25000 miles since new. I agree with other posts that they have been around for many many years, and normal...

My opinion only is the 17s with a 50 or 45 series is not too bad, still has some sidewall, but handing will be better. I just put on Bilstein shocks, and the ride is much better than the old KYB’s !
I really like that wheel, a little pricey in a 17 last I looked. I have the same 15” set up you have currently with redline tires . When I change I want to go 17” and a wheel like this .
