    Yes, it is for a HIC. Effectively a vacuum leak. You can make a plate to block it off and all will be fine.

    Yes they did and they performed well in those applications. Dad had a 75 454 Chevy pickup with a guzzling Holley spreadbore on it. I had rebuilt a Quad for it, installed it, tuned it and got from 9mpg with the Holley to 12-13 mpg with the Quad. Throttle response was awesome too. Great carb.

    I just can't fathom a Quadrajet on a Mopar. True, when right, just like a Thermoquad, they are excellent carbs however I couldn't put Thermoquad on a chevy either. They just don't go together.

    Always had good luck with the JB Weld epoxy. Not the cures in 5 minute stuff. Surfaces must be clean for good adhesion as I'm sure you know.

    This is the info I have had for years on how to set the "metering tree". Hope it is what you are looking for. Metering rod tree adjustment, with the fast idle cam not engaged, find the metering rod piston's center slot on the top of the piston center and with a small slot head screwdriver...

    Have no fear as the afb is one of the easiest four barrel carbs there is to rebuild. Many can be brought back to running condition with simple internal and external cleaning of the few parts that are present. Rebuilding with a kit is simply replacing the old with a matching new piece in the kit...
