just a word of note,if this thing overheated you could have a seized cam.(seems to be a fairly common prob)we just had one here in the shop.pull your timming and make sure the cam comes out before even bothering with the pistons.
what weight oil are you running?mine makes a slight noise at start up but goes away almost instantly.try a good synthetic oil,possibly in a heavyer weight.
prob get best deal with whole vehicle that is wrecked,vs a loose motor.at least with a vehicle you can check millage and vin references to motor.you never know what you get with a loose motor.
