I don’t have side pipes, but I have side exit. I used 2.5 inch T/A &AAR mufflers then had exit pipes bent. Not loud at all, almost wish it had a little more bark. Maybe some more HP’s will help.
Sorry no pics. And the car is stuck in the garage under a re-roofing job.
I get it with the family, it needs to come 1st. Well if you got the mig welder your more than halfway there. I say cut it up weld it back to fit better. I myself will do everything but exhaust im to much of a perfectionist on stuff i touch and im sure it wouldnt be good enough to satisfy me or...
Man. Good luck with the DYI exhaust. Maybe you can make some pie cuts in just the right places to get it a little more to your liking. Mine goes to the exhaust shop tomorrow. Quoted me $600 from manifolds to mufflers 2.5” with H-pipe then exiting in front of rear tires T/A style. I supplied...
Unless it’s behind a full length header I don’t care for the sound of Unbaffled exhaust. For track use sure but I doubt a good muffler is more restrictive then the exhaust manifolds.
I’m not trying to disagree, because I don’t know. My car was a 2barrel 383. PO installed 4 barrel cab and intake from a 67, and HP manifolds from a 69 I assume the exhaust manifolds and H pipe was a package deal off a donor car. Any way I had it off when I un-stuck the engine.Re-assembly it...
I’d love to see a true comparison. Headers vs HP manifolds full exhaust, turbo mufflers, tail pipes out the back. I’m sure headers will win but what’s the number? Even better would be on a chassis dyno so we can see numbers to the wheels.
