Wow, glad you found it before any damage.
Reminds me of a time a co-worker brought his 81 Grand Prix with a BBC in it to the job site for the day on a Friday. He pops the hood and removes air cleaner and threads wing nut back on for us to check it out. He fires it up and revs it several times...
I have mine studed so it all slides on easily. Thin layer of sealant on both sides of gasket #1 & slide on , then slide on front plate, thin layer of sealant on gasket #2 & slide on, then slide on water pump and screw on nuts.
950's with more main jet may be just fine and may be more of a pump shot.
My combo has been great for drivability haven't hardly turned any wrenches on the carburetors since it was on the dyno years ago now.
Holley has discontinued/deleted hundreds of rebuild kit part numbers and bulked them into universal type kits now. Gives you more than you need for an individual carb. I just ordered (2) 37-1542 kits for my dual quad 4160's and they came with everything needed.
Do not use the bungs that put it in going in at a 45 degree angle. I did it for under car clearance. It does not allow the O2 far enough in the tube. Gives a false reading. Found this out on dyno. Re-welded in a regular 90 degree bung and been fine since.
I had the marine intake with dual 1407 Edelbrock carbs on one of my Hemi's. I used the production street Hemi brackets, and also a Edelbrock progressive dual quad linkage kit that I extended slightly to make it work as needed.
Nope, haven't played in dozens of years. Lol. Have to be organized when I have like 5 parts cars worth of parts. The upstairs attic is all the big stuff like, hoods, fenders, doors, deckids, glass, seats etc.
I was able to get a good deal on a pair Weld Magnum 2.0 1 piece wheels and tires that are new. I am still undecided if I like my old 2 piece or the new 1 piece wheels better. I like them both.
