    Leaf spring dimensions

Yes to some extent. However the stiff front segment in Chrysler application once it goes flat it stays flat the only movement of the axle is distance to pivot. On rebound since you don't like the word camber, the spring curves and it rotates around the front pivot moving it much further...

    Leaf spring dimensions

The rear springs do steer the car on a Chrysler product. A Nova or Mustang not so much. It is because of the short and long segments. If you let the rear hang on our cars it moves forward, the slip yoke will be in toward a transmission seal. When the spring is flat at designed ride height it is...

    Leaf spring dimensions

If you measure the distance between the front spring hanger and the rear shackle in it's most forward position that the spring could still be installed, it would give you the maximum height of E dimension that would be practical. I would go 1-2" less than that because I have never had to do...

    Brake Confusion

Not building any pressure on the rear brake system because the fluid is moving to the front brake reservoir this is what is turning the light on.

    Brake Confusion

I would lean towards bad master cylinder since the fluid moved on you. Q.C. at its finest.

Can anybody explain steering for me?

I will admit that a new car will handle better on a very bumpy surface, because of the limitations of leaf springs better at loads than comfort. The asymmetrical springs used in muscle era Mopar are far superior to the axle in the middle of the spring junk GM and Ford peddled on everyone.

Can anybody explain steering for me?

I'm not talking about buying a high zoot, high$$$ suspension. If you make sure the suspension in your classic is blueprinted it will handle much, much better. You will have to shim, grind, weld, measure, measure about 16 more times. Another is power steering pressure, you do not need 1400 psi to...

Can anybody explain steering for me?

I'd bet that you could get a 4 door Dart or Valiant to rival a new car handling. Mainly because it a easy #1000 lighter. Making a light car handle is easier than a heavy car.

Can anybody explain steering for me?

Steering geometry on our old cars is excellent as designed. Biggest problem is factory tolerances (how much mounting points are not symmetrical) caster is what will give you stability at speed. The more caster you can put in a old Mopar the better (yes you can have too much, but not with stock...

    Leaf springs for handling

I have not autocrossed or track day my car. However I did pay attention somewhat to building my leaf springs for my Charger. I had replaced the leaf springs in my Challenger with Mopar Performance HD rear springs (mostly a stockish resto). Took apart the springs and added to the stock springs...

    K FRAME UP GRADE

M2 or Pinto suspension is easy and light. Great idea when replacing a solid axle in a old pickup truck, or anything else with a solid front axle. Then the aftermarket stepped in and made it lighter, excellent for drag racing. Crown Vic front suspensions are now a better choice they are beefier...

    High Performance brake shoes

Biggest problem with drum brakes ( besides fade). They do suck till they get seated, which most trailer queens never get to. With QA. nowadays you will be lucky to get 50% of friction surface to hit the drum for the first 1000 miles.

    Brake Proportioning Block

My brother-in-law went on and on about power brake conversion in his '71 340 'Cuda. I said you have 11"×3 & 2.5 for a 3700# car with him in it. How does it not stop? Turns out 2 wheel cylinders were frozen. I made the brakes work properly, he has never brought up the conversion again. I can see...

crooked streering wheel pulling to the Right.

If the steering parts and steering wheel is original or original equipment style, you can definitely adjust the toe rod sleeves to center the wheel. You will need to make the driver's side shorter and the passenger side longer. Just make your adjustments equal on both sides. 1/4 turn on driver's...
