If you are referring to a block having a cast date older than one would normally think would match a cars production date I believe the answer is yes. I don't remember all the specifics but I think it happened in later models more. Ma Mopar expected more orders than they actually got for them so...
Consider buying a BB sat. You can usually get them a whole lot cheaper than a rr or gtx. Then you can turn it into a clone if you want when you get the cash.
And for the record...if you have a hyped up sb a stock bb will be a disappointment. Now an equally hyped up bb torque will put a big...
Maybe buy a 360 block and have it stroked. Depends on your pocket book and desire. I assume you want as much out of it as you can get or you wouldn't have done a 4bbl conversion. The 360 is a small block like the 318 so making massive changes elsewhere won't be an issue.
A well built 360...
Its a plugin on the back of the gauge cluster. Roughly 2" long metal looking thing with three pronges that goes into the circuit board. Just look for something matching that description where the copper paths converge.
I know you weren't really looking for advice. But could your lower radiator hose be collapsing at higher speeds? So then you get to the cruise and close to home (presumably driving slower) and magically everything is better.
Pop the hood, rev her up and hold it around 3-4k and watch the lower...
Everyone has pretty much covered it here but I will throw in my 2 cents.
I have a 496 stroker that runs 555hp and 620tq. This is a 383 block with a eddy dual plane intake to keep it close to the original engine height. A 440 will be about 1.5 inches higher in the engine compartment at the very...
Try rocking the front end up and down as high as you can and see if you hear it. You mentioned ball joint were replaced were your control arm bushing replaced and are you sure the bolts are tight? I could see control arms making a wierd noise like you describe. But again, just kinda grasping at...
When you say you checked everything...did you hear the sound with the wheels off and up on stands or only when the car is moving? Drums all the way around or disc's too? Did you have someone pressing the pedal while you were checking out the assembly? Too hard to say and not enough information...
Yeah I do like my eddy dual plane. You give up a little horse but that extra torque gets these big heavy beasts moving quicker and it does have a more stock look to it for sure.
Might want to consider clearance issues. The RB is taller. Depending on what kind of intake you intend to use you might be in for a surprise when you go to close the hood.
I run a 4 core Champion aluminum radiator and have had no issues at all with it. 4 core is probably overkill. 3 would suffice. (just beware of the dreaded twisting/wracking issue that some aluminum radiators could have coming out of the box. Mine had about a 1/2 twist in it but that was a...
