ok! I think I found my problem... I have the cylinder head off and rotated the crank till the #1 piston was at TDC. I verified that the rotor was pointing at the #1 spark plug wire on the distributor. I then pulled the balancer and timing cover and noticed that the line up marks on the gears...
yeah I agree...I would just like a second pair or hands and eyes and a second opinion on helping to get this car back on the road. Just stopped starting one day. I verified fuel and spark so I went to check the compression...2 cylinders were over 140 but th other 4 were 90 or less. So I...
I should have the engine mostly back together by tomorrow night...I just need some one to help me change the timing chain and set the timing......anyone in the area?
I am having serious mechanical issues with my 225 slant six engine and I have it tore apart awaiting parts to come in. I need to also put on a new timing chain and I SUCK at setting the timing. I have until Monday the 22nd of August to get this back together and running if there is anyone in...
Ok so here is my dilemna...I got tired of looking at both plymouths sitting broken down in the parking lot so I had the both towed to a mechanic (Thanks AAA!). He states that both engines are trash...slant six dropped a valve and the 318 in the wagon broke the timing chain and bent up "all...
Make the demon the dragstrip car, daily drive the coronet and either sell or part out the New Yorker. Or set it aside for after the demon and coronet are done and find an engine for her down the road.
I have seen mention of the charcoal canister on the 71-74 B-bodies being removed (eliminated) I was just curious as to what the "Correct" procedure was to completely ELiminate the charcoal canister without any negative effects to the vehicle. Taking it out is easy....but what do I do to...
I have heard rumors that they are looking at doing a sequel to Dukes of hazzard and producers are rounding up charger bodies around the US. I bet these are all destined to be in the next movie.
Yank the radiator and bring it to a shop and have it recored again. I dont know how long it sat. But if it was long it could have coagulated and or sedimented.
You HAVE to change those rear end gears....like everyone stated above, MINIMUM 3:23. some 410s will really get you moving but will be horrible on the fuel. Dont be discouraged...just save up and get that rearend re-geared and youll be fine.
OK I think I figured it out. I BELIEVE that both sets are 71-74...however, the set on the right is 71-72 and the set on the left is 73-74. Can some of you fine gentleman/ladies that own 71-74 b-bodies snap a few pictures of your prospective pedals to see if this theory is correct?
Thanks for that pic...it rules out 68-69. So now i have no idea. Is it possible they are both from the same year range, and one is a dodge version and the other plymouth. They are very close in appearance.
I bought a blue complete dash frame out of a '73 roadrunner about 8 years ago and he left the vin plate on the dash frame. If its a blue roadrunner body shell, I might have your vin tag

Here are a couple pictures
1st picture is my mostly original 120,000+ leaning tower or power
2nd picture is of the new coil and fuel pump
3rd picture is one where I am wondering what that square on the fire wall is with the red push button. It has a ground wire attached to it as...
