Been running 3:91 Gears in my 383 BEE for over 30 years now - Auto Trans
28” 275 60 15” Tires help a little
Fun yes - Really helped the torque curve of the stock 383 down low - Different camshaft , intake blah blah
Now that I am running a 383/432 Stroker Kit as of five years ago -...

Boat of a car
"but i have little to no throttle response at low speeds and then it occasionally stalls out. I cant even power brake the car without it stalling."

Single Plane Intake Manifold
Honestly
GET RID OF THAT INTAKE MANIFOLD for your application
A nice dual plane will change everything in regards to LOW THROTTLE RESPONSE

Your Quotes
A. So. Car ran fine before I started all of this and *all* I did was swap to a new distributor cap.
B. I just remembered I swapped out to a different coil. I thought I researched to make sure it was the same ohm rating, but maybe not.
Thanx , appreciate that
But what I am trying to find out first is
He mentioned factory wiring and distributor - You have to have an ignition module or box from the factory correct - He mentions none
That cap will not fit a factory distributor
That is a distributor cap for a Mallory HEI or...
One more thing to add
Something caused that cap to melt
No ignition box ? Not even a Factory Mopar ECU
So looking at that distributor cap , could this be an all in one distributor ? That would still make it a CDI Ignition system type distributor
We need more information on that...
The old cap was part of the problem - Center rotor button contact on cap is melted that contacts your rotor
The new cap is correct
What does your rotor look like - Is it melted also
Can’t see the model number of that ignition coil
What are your running for an ignition box or module
If your positive those are nuts in there , we can’t see that with your pictures , anyways I would bee grinding the OUTSIDE diameter of any or all cheap sockets that would bee close to 9/16" inside diameter
If that doesnt work , onto plan BEE
God Bless your wife - Hope everything went well
Winter storage in WI
So every car that gets put away six months out of the year , we where supposed to bee pre-oiling the engine before spring start up
I learned something new after 35 years
Last week from Classic Ind. - My first order with them
I supposedly got the last two Orange 383 Magnum they had in stock , that was last week when I talked with them thru email after this subject came up again and again and again and
I know Mega Parts didn’t have any for a few years now when...
Technically the Mopar Performance pies are re-pops also , selling on eBay for millions
In reality how would you even know a factory original/dealer from a re-pop ?
Unless your car is unrestored
Anyways
But yet again
For the third time , another thread
Classic Ind shows IN STOCK
Available Now
The much desired 383 Magnum ORANGE that where not available for years
In their store
And on EBay
So these were just magically found in a dusty bathroom somewhere ?
China has to bee popping...
It’s not a hard job - Just a messy job on your back - Lift sure would bee nice
You have to remove the tail shaft housing bolts and rotate the tail shaft for the tab to clear the pin
You DO NOT have to remove the tail shaft , unless I guess somehow the gasket got stuck or got damaged
Any...
