    That’s your heater box. It contains your heater core. Coolants runs through the heater core at all times, no matter if you have the heater on or not. As mentioned above, you need to replace the heater core or have it repaired by a radiator shop.

    If you can adjust the fuel pressure down to ~7 lbs, you should be able to use the current pump with a carburetor, to do a sanity check. Would it be hard to put a new fuel line from the regulator to a carb?

    I used Eastwood heat and sound barrier XMAT Under Hood & Headliner. Whatever you look at, if you use a product with adhesive already on it, make sure it will withstand being inverted. The manufacturer should be able to tell you that. The last thing you want is the insulation falling off.
