Thank you for the tips. Already tried using the vise. Still a no fit condition for the clips. I am confident the Dana Spicer pieces will do the trick. I measured with Vernier calipers and the Spicer units are narrower across the clip grooves by 0.020”. Plenty of space to fit the 2nd clip.
I just ordered a set of Spicers from O’Reilly’s a few minutes ago. Dana is supposed to be the first name in driveline. I was going to thin out the circlips equally before doing anything else. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow. Thanks.
I am having a heck of a time getting the 2nd circlip to seat after installing a new SKF u-joint into the slip yoke for my 1972 Charger.
Anybody else had this problem? I removed all corrosion build up. I used a press to keep the bearing cups seated.
