For Sale - Not Mine - Morphodite 64 Belvedere

Somebody got new cutters and a welder for Christmas awhile back? If I got new tools? I might be inclined to see what can be done? A mind can be a terrible thing with new tool sets.

Another stupid "What's it worth" post

$5k is not an unreasonable starting point. And I can with almost certainty predict of hidden issues. (They all do.) I'm guessing seller wants $5k. You would grab at $2500. The bid somewhere between. If you are really feeling it? Then nothing wrong with leaning more towards the seller's price...

Should you just start out by buying what you've always wanted? Is it cheaper that way? 1964 B Body

Squeaking belt from a tensioner? Nobody said anything about that. Sell them off. All of us. It was a good Mopar run. But all good things have come to an end. Damn, so close.

Should you just start out by buying what you've always wanted? Is it cheaper that way? 1964 B Body

Yes. It's why I buy in-between. A nice non numbers matching car so not to pay premium price. Where I can upgrade with no price penalty for messing with an "All original." But don't have to touch every single component or body panel. I too have wanted an old school hemi. Pro Street terror. So I...

Let's see some engine shots !

A Chevy friend once asked. "If Hemi is so great? Than why aren't all engines Hemies?" My Answer. 1st. Cost. Obviously casting then machining a hemispheric combustion chamber design requires more specialized processes. (Curves are always tougher than straight edge.) Plus the dual rocker shaft...

    New horse in the barn

Pull that anchor and drop a Gen III in that thing. (Ok, of course I'm just kidding. That would be blasphemy!) I would touch up engine bay. And leave as is.

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

I have to admit I wasn't the biggest fan of the early/mid 60s body lines of any of the big 3's production lines. But those Max Wedge 413/426 engines are just badass. And like the 3rd generation Charger and Plymouth B-bodies? (71-74) I'm warming FAST. The '64 Savoy lightweight with the race 426...

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

I have looked at Stepp's program to see if there was any published connection? I found none. It certainly doesn't mean there wasn't an informal connection to a small team from Wisconsin? (They were certainly more informal back in the day.) Just no documentation or even photo. Are you more...

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

My hopes is that the "A Cuda Tale" ending has yet to be wrote? I'm in my 50s now. Dream of a year long tour to small local tracks on a hustler mission. The car will look like a nice street car. But with something VERY sinister under the hood. The advantage with this setup is that this 904 was...

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

So thats pretty much. "A Cuda's tale" story. No spectacular track or highstar history. The guy said he believed in 73 the car was a backup to a team drove by "Billy the kid?" at the Gator Nationals? But that may have been a false memory. I found no evidence.

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

I did manage to talk with the bother of the guy. A mean old fart that started "That car is still around? I'm so sick of that car!" I explained that I had it for 10 years. Bought it from a guy who had it 10 years. And neither of us ever talked to you. So its been at least 20 years sence? He...

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

Its stunning that prices have surged enough to even consider. But in my opinion? Just too modified. Engine bay, cab, truck area. Its too bad it was a V-code Cuda and not a plain Jane Barracuda. But they didn't know either of the future?

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

Like I said. HEAVILY modified. The front crowl still has its production number stamped. And matches door tag and title. Windshield VIN and fender tag gone. But other than that? Its cut up pretty bad for a new start. (Again not my doing. Im just following the race path for a Pro Street build) I...

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

Actually I'm thinking that for oil tank and cooler. Engine has dry sump oiling. The Cuda was originally a 4-speed car. The Cuda's history is even more bizarre. Someone from the early 70s attempted to take on the Dick Landy's and the Ronnie Sox of the day in the Pro Stock. And heavily modified a...

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

Just putts around from show to show last I heard. The car builder died last year. Joe bought the car back from his friends estate. Not sure what Joe's plans are with car. But im guessing more of the same.

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

My problem today? Is transmission. I have a JB Ultrabell glide with a GW overdrive. The trans can easily handle the power and torque. But the problem is heat. This is a Pro Street build. And these trans heat up bigtime. (Designed more for top alcohol.) This motor thumps 1000+ ft/lbs torque...

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

The only other Schubeck 904 is in this 32 roadster. Very polished. And very nonperformance setup. Convertible with no cage. Thus no runs for this guy down a track. My Cuda build is not for show. And I want to see the look on the Brainerd, MN drag race track tech crews faces when they inspect...

    1963 Super Stock Max Wedge....

This is the mockup we used. It is a 3rd 904 block. But with smaller heads. Bolt pattern same. But centerlines off. Thus worked well for a mock engine. What is ironic is that Schubeck racing's primary products were high-end lifters for racing applications. Then makes engines that have no lifters?
