Anyone in DETROIT MI area to check out a weird charger?

Yep they are pretty slick for the early 60s and newer trucks. The front hub to hub width of the crown vic is 67 1/4" wide. The 8.8" is even wider. They use a rim with a big back spacing to narrow the track width. On the older pickups there is a company making a different cross member to narrow...

Anyone in DETROIT MI area to check out a weird charger?

The crownvic front axle and rear are crazy wide for a charger transplant. It looks really stupid. Could be the way to go if your going to hit the Dixie horn and jump over a train. But, don't zoom in the camera.

The sheriff's ride in Gage county Nebraska. I heard about it in the 80s. People are still talking about it! It was out at a cars and coffee event this week.

    1970 Charger 500

That makes sense, I didnt notice the pin out till Remcharger posted. For your future goals I would plan on a rearend upgrade if you want to make power. The 8 1/4 isn't going to like much power before it gives up. Rather then messing with it...switch up to a 8 3/4, or Dana 60 and a sure grip...

Those blueprint engines you linked come with a 727 transmission. I assume your car has a 904 but it could have a 727? Take a look.. Driveshaft length and yoke is different. Blueprint engines are built here in Central Nebraska, where I live. Neither is going to make enough power to put your...

    1970 Charger 500

I would rebuild the transmission you have now with a shift kit and a good stall convertor. If it has a 318 in it...most any small block should fit in front of it. Just make sure it has the proper flexpate and convertor for balancing. The 904 is a great transmission. There is a lot of aftermarket...

    1970 Charger 500

They make stroker crank for a 318 or you can go with boost. Typically your better off finding a 360 or 340 to start with though. We once had a mild built 318 that we turbocharged in a 72 Satellite. It was likely around 450-500hp depending on the boost we ran, still drove great. Could have been a...

Odd VIN I can't figure out

A lot of states have ways to assign a new vin if the car is assembled or a vin was damaged. You will get a decal vin courtesy of your dmv...after you jump through all their hoops.

    My restoration dilemma

K&G body shop, Wilber, NE. They do a healthy variety from original to restomod. Seen them save some that there wasn't much left. Been helpful when we've visited with him. Not cheap but does some nice stuff.
