A bunch of us from Ontario used to charter a bus down to this event, but this year was unable to. Some of the guys were still going to drive down, however. I always was able to find good deals on parts I needed. I met a lot of good people there over the years. It was especially great to meet...
I agree. I just went to our last local Cruise Night last night in Aylmer, Ontario. It was overcast and kind of cool, so only about 25 cars there. I won $50.00 cash doorprize!
I hear they lost the $1.00/pound of ice cream this year. This is serious! I have attended in past years, and there is always a great turnout of '62-'65 B-bodies racing and spectating there.
Be aware that the Friday night cruise has been cancelled after the tragic mishap of last year at Chatham Retrofest. There just will be parking uptown on Friday, plus the show on Saturday.
South and east of St. Thomas, near the village of Sparta. I live about 5 miles straight East of there. I can hear the drags most weekends in the summer.
With crazy fuel costs, I will be staying closer to home with my R/T for the foreseeable future. 125 miles one way, at about $0.65 fuel cost per mile, it adds up!
We used to go every year, starting in 1985 (Ann Arbor, MI.), until show went to Indy in 1993. Then we discovered Chryslers @ Carlisle. It was twice as far to drive there from Ontario, but well worth it due to better organized, more professional. My yellow 1967 R/T got 2nd place trophy on Fun...
I have always wanted to go to the Mopar show at the Gilmore, and now that MCACN is hooked up with the Museum's show, it will be an awesome show of musclecars. Unfortunately, as Covid continues to rear its ugly head, we will be staying home.
It is not worth all the hassle for me to come over from Ontario for the day. Too bad, since I am only about 2 hours away. Been to it before, first at McComb, and later at Gibralters.
I took a few photos of members' cars at last Wednesday's meeting of Western Ontario Mopar Owners. Red 1968 Barracuda "S" is 383 4-speed; white 1966 barracuda is 273 Commando 4-speed. 1971 SuperBee is 426 Hemi 4-speed; 1969 SuperBee has 500" stroker with EFI.1970 green Coronet is original paint...
There's a bunch of us up here in Ontario that charter a bus and come down to Indy every year. Pretty good deal for $300. Drive down Friday, do the swap meet on Saturday, drive home Sunday with our treasures. We went last year, but figure if the event was held a week later, we likely would not...
