IMO, over time you'll likely wear the front face of one pulley V and the rear face of the other. Enhance the possibility of the belt rolling off at high RPM.
I believe the 143 tooth FW was typically used with a 11" disc setup and cast iron '68-'69 bells. Since the diameter of the 143 FW is larger diameter than a 130 FW, the starter is located further out by necessity. Aftermarket scatter shields can accommodate both FW sizes in most cases.

I'd just do the spacer. Make sure the shaft isn't bottoming on the pump drive when installing.
FWIW, this distributor kit came with a RB length distributor and the spacer kit to fit the B engines.....
Count the teeth on the flywheel between two cover holes and multiply X 6.
143 = 11"
130 = 10-1/2"

For the B&B style, the cover springs need to get the pedal to just past "center up" for the OC spring to lift it to the stop.
FWIW, the MP book has a setup fixture that checks installed finger height as a way to find out. They don't say how it's used .......
