I built and own a SB tribute. I didn't build it to race and not for the value ( I am upside down in it money wise @ 50 K ) I built it as close to the real thing as money allowed. I built it because I thought they were the most outrageous beautiful thing on the road! The styling is better on the...
From the edge of the front fender the scoop sits 25 1/2 inches in the center. If your building the hood the outer skin is cut 44 7/8 inches from the back on the outer edges and 42 1/2 in the center. Then you need to conform a piece of 1/2 angle to the hood for the extension to fasten to. As far...
Actually that is original. I found in a salvage yard laying on a shelf. Story is it came out of a wrecked charger. Odometer had 19K showing. I paid 200.00 for it.
I did mine and it is well worth it! Take your time as I did and shop ebay. I think I might have had 1K in mine. But took about a year to collect everything. My superbird was a satellite and I collected parts for 3 years before I started my build. Just be patient and watch for parts. Mine was a...
Probably been on here before but I stumbled onto this while messing around. Just thought it was kool in its own way.

I don't think they would be worth that even if they belonged to the king himself. But wow two original hemi wing cars! That would be something to own. Someone was thinking ahead!
8+ years ago a Janak kit was around 9K when I got mine. Also there was a waiting period of about 3 to 6 months. While not perfect his stuff has held up very well. I had to do some tweaking for sure to get a good quality fit that looked right. But after all said and done if I were to do it over...
I don't know what a nice original is worth in todays market. I can tell you a nice clone done to be everything an original would be is a very expensive build. I built mine as close as I could from a satellite sport and end result was 55000.00 invested. It is not easy and for sure NOT CHEAP. If...
WOW! guess I better stop complaining about mine. I took my 6 pack off and went with a offenhouser 4bbl manifold and a competition series carter and I am getting 12 and it runs better than my 6 pack did.
Oh my car is ready. It has been 100% this year. I have driven Christine more than ever. I just need to figure out my seat tracks. I kind of made my seat mounts. I need the right seat tracks as mine sit too low and too far forward. Not real comfortable. I need power seats like birdable . 4 years...
Stuart,
You always get to go on all these cool trips! Thanks for sharing with us. Glad to see your still kicking. Surprised you trailered birdable down there. It was always something I wanted to do. Just once do a parade lap on a track. But now it is just too darn far to travel. But it sure...
Another quick note: And it depends on budget of course. There is a guy on this forum that makes great looking metal parts. I know they would be more expensive but if I had to do it again I think I would go that way. Start to finish and trying to be correct with my build I put 55K in mine.
I used a complete Janak kit on mine. However he did not have fenders (at least at that time) But he has been doing it the longest that I know of.But I had to find and cut a coronet hood and front fenders. But so far it has been good. I drive the car and there has been no issues with his glass...
There is a superbird sitting in a shop in S/E Nebraska about 80 south of Omaha that was originally white. It is petty blue now. Has been sitting there for about 20+ years. Don't know the vin on it but it is sitting in a building with 2 hemi roadrunners that are all original. Also a 70 R/T...
