In total agreement! Most of the really great sema cars come from many skilled people. Yours is a one man build. Something to be honored that not many can accomplish. And you have a following in our B body community here who would love to see one of our own on that level.
Pat don't sell your self short. It is as good as anything there. I installed my headliner yesterday. It isn't even close to the job you did on yours. I cant get the sail panel area to look right. That area around the back window is a pain. lol. But I am not building to the level you are. I don't...
One of the most well done outrageous 68 chargers I have ever seen. And 40+ years in the car seen I have seen a lot. You should be very proud Pat. OUTSATNDING!!!
Thank you Sir. That does help. Most I have done had covered sail panels that go on the outside of the headliner. So I assume the headliner then glues to the cardboard panels? Again thank you for the help. Your car is so perfect I cant think of better advise than from your expertise .
Pat I have a couple questions on the headliner install. I have done a few but never seen one like this 68 charger. The boards you put on the B pillar are on the underside of the headliner. How about the short rods on the B pillar. Mine were left attached and I cant figure out how they come out...
Dumb question here Mr. Pat but can these rear windows be put in backwards? Its been awhile since I removed the one from my car but yours looks like the window curves outward and I swear when I removed mine it curved inward. Mine was just laying in place with no trim installed. As always your...
I need to figure out my rods for putting in my head liner on my 68. They were laying in the trunk when I bought the car. Any suggestions other than just trying to see where they fit? Not sure if I have everything so your picture sure helps.
Thanks
Outstanding as always Pat. Did you have to put in the rear valance corners? So far on my build that has been the worst part. I bought an AMD rear valance and corners and the corners don't come close to fitting. I only have one side done at this point and I had to cut it in half attach it to both...
Cute addition Pat! Congrats on the pup and the car. I am still way out on mine and it will never be the car yours will. I kind of stalled out on mine as I lost my little black and white friend this past month. We had him 11 years .These pets own us. I would give all I have to have him back.
Or maybe a mopar thing lol. I looked at my much newer 300 C and the lines are very nice and tight...till you get to the bottom of the doors. Same type of gap some 50+ years later. But yes it looks much nicer closed up.
Looks great Pat as always. What welder do you use. I have a terrible time welding sheet metal. I have a Miller 225 auto set. If I turn it up to get a decent spot weld I burns through. If I go colder it just don't penetrate. I have done body panels for years but have never been satisfied with the...
Pat , will you paint it together or pull it back apart? I usually paint mine apart but it is a pain to reassemble with out chipping the paint. But I hate over spray in the door jams or tape lines.
You should post this in the New Hemi forum. Also start by digging through that forum and most answers will be there. There are a lot of things that have to be done to do this. But it is very doable. Good luck.
Awesome welding! I wish mine would look that good. I make good strong welds but they are never that uniform. And great looking car! Kind of Mad Max looking.
Well Pat, thank you and it would be an understatement to say I was the only one here watching your build with envy. You are a master craftsman and should be proud. Yours is the kind of car we see in SEMA battle of builders or should be. And I am sure I will be taking you up on your offer. Again...
Looks great Pat you are on the home stretch now. I just started my build thread for my 68. I can look yours over and over ad dream mine could be like that but I wont ever be able to take it to that level. But you have sure done an amazing job on yours.
