My 70 Charger RT is a mag hubcap car and my 68 sport satellite is deluxe hubcap car too but hey my RT has dealer installed road wheels and the 68 is getting either some day twos or magnums , I really think day two torque thrusts but cragars kinda appeal maybe even slots... I can’t make up my...
HP engines were stamped only, my early build 68 build vert is a 2bbl 383, it’s not VIN stamped on the flange or bell. It has build day , plant etc on the ear near the starter and my car was built early August of 67.
The body over car should be titled as a new challenger as the only thing left of the 68 is the little bit of tin and of course a vin tag. At what point is it gone... that point ! Its BS to do a body over car and not list it as what it besides a pile.
Engine is obvious, trans- programming and guts, torque convertor stall and guts, VIN, body gets torque boxes etc, suspension is better , HD shocks, big brakes , there is a lot more than you think... it’s not just a logo . Yes you can clone it...
There is a 68 charger body over on fleabay for 325k painted shiny primer gray with really weird body work.... ruined a 68 charger . I can’t get the link to post. The car also has a challenger dash and weird interior..for the small sum of 325k
I’d say with prices the way they are you may be looking at 30-35 k to tickle his fancy. These cars are like land, they don’t make more! While I consider it crazy myself, look at eBay to see and work from there. Every car and owner is different you need the facts on it, your budget and your work...
I’ll stick with my 70RT, Im not a rich man but a fan of the clean look and the best of all model years built right in , topped off with awesome colors and the best options what more can you ask for.. pistol grip six pack, sunroof car sounds pretty cool ! I like all three but 70 was the best...
Well I will say I’d take a little time stock stuff set up properly it will surprise the hell out of ya! The best part is cost! All the fancy stuff doesn’t promise anything.. There is a 69 Bee running around eating German cars for lunch on the twisties.... I’m drawing a blank on who it is.. it’s...
Yes it would be stamped on the unit. There generally three sets of numbers on the pad on the rear half of the case, part number, vendor and assembly date.
It should be a single field, single groove for your application. If you have your build sheet it may list the last digits of the part number. Casting dates will be earlier than assembly date. Both halves need to be close to each other. I’m very familiar with St. Louis built in 70 , just trying...
That road runner belongs to a very good friend of mine.. I spent some time looking it over last Saturday. Its a huge project, I wouldn’t rebody it.. I would do it the right way if it was mine. Hopefully someone returns it to its former when it was new, it was a pretty car then I’m sure.
