Here's a quick wiring diagram for how the ignition should be wired with a dual ballast resistor.

Is it possible it's been starting on run power all along but now with new dizzy it won't start on run power. Need to check and see if it's getting start power to the coil when cranking. Brown wire on end of ballast resistor should have 12v coming from switch when cranking.

Poor wording on my part as I meant ignition, not distributor. Like CANADIAN1968 said odd that it will work with old dizzy. Are you sure the ECU is good as they can cause some weird problems sometimes.

Could be a bad connection at the blkhd connector or the switch.

If it's not firing in crank, check the voltage going to the ECU during crank as it should be 12v.

Are you still running a resistor in the system? If so it needs to be bypassed by soldering a wire across the terminals or just making a jumper to plug the wires together. I would try to isolate the system by unhooking the power to the coil and crank it to see if it blows a fuse, and if it does...
