Exactly the reason I couldn’t send my GTX tail panel out for restoration - I was afraid of the shipping damage. I lived with it the way it was. No regrets. Sorry to hear of your woes. That’s a tough deal.
Just went thru this thread from front to back. My God there’s some badassed wheels you guys have posted. Love those early 60’s rides. Something special about them. Motor on!
I know you’ve probably decided by now - but I would also vote for body color. I did mine and it was painful but worth it to go that route. It looks very nice and matches everything else. I thought about black too but in the end went with body. Pay now so you don’t regret later.
California Car Cover here too. Great fitment, and quality material. Cost a bit - I think about $200 or so but I felt it was worth it.... can’t go wrong with one. Bought the Dustop version
You’re right RT. A lot more of us need to take your approach. Sometimes we get down and only look at the negatives when there are indeed many, many positives.
Just learned yesterday they’re going to build high density housing very near my home and tear down a Lowe’s, Trader Joe’s, Walgreens etc etc..... more of the decisions by developers in CA. Give me OK any day! I’m soon to be living in even more congestion. Someone save me pls!
Hosehead - God Bless you man. I wish I could leave too. Just about everything sucks in this state. I’m trapped because of my wife and her family being here. It’s only going to get worse
Found out about the rip on eBay when I paid $90 for a glove lock and key. I would not be looking there again for any deals. I would be calling a mobile locksmith to have your locks re-keyed though. As Kid says shouldn’t be a big deal for them.
You can also get a 1” to 2” additional lift by getting an “add a leaf” set from Summit. Only costs around $35. If you need extra rake for your tires - that’s what I did on my 68 GTX.
