Don't have a clue. I use it on manifolds and exhaust pipes of tractors, when worked hard the manifolds get red on the 2 cylinder gas tractors. Also use it on headers, snowmobile exhaust pipes. Only high temp to use in my opinion.
If you have a John Deere dealer close go get some Deere Muffler Black. Best high temp paint I've found.
Sand them down to metal, wipe them down with some waxand grease remover and spray.
Can't help you too much. I replaced the headers on my Charger 3 or 4 years ago. First set rusted out, but I had them wrapped with wrap. They were over 15 years old, cheap Headmans with thin flanges but never had a leak. Did have to smash them around to fit around the steering gear...
