Sweet B bodies at Spokane Custom and Hot Rod Show

Here’s 4 that I’d like in my garage. 66 HEMI/727 Satty, original owner, matching numbers engine, 36,000 miles, restored. The gal who owns it street raced it back in the day. Manual steering ;) Owns 3 other HEMI cars, but she brought this one to town: 70 Charger R/T 727 Special story...

    Found this Holley - 440hp?

Thanks. I knew it had a Mopar look about it. The dude selling had mountains of VW Bug parts, and a few things like this carb. I think I’ll freshen it up and give it a try on a buddies 383 4bbl conversion.

    Found this Holley - 440hp?

Found this at a swap meet…told the dude who had it if he didn’t sell it, I’d take it for $35. He texted today so I met him for lunch and bought it. Has a Mopar vibe to it, maybe 440hp? Thoughts?

    NOS lifters, pt# 3004647 - cosmoline?

I bought these NOS hydraulic b/rb lifters a few years back. Pulled them off the shelf today, took one out of the box, pulled it out of the plastic and during inspection, I see they all have a waxy substance on the lifter face. Cosmoline? Break in lube? What do you think?

    Finally using non ethanol fuel

I guess to be clearer, the cars run fine with the ethanol blends, once they are running. But when they sit, bad things happen. Harder cranking in the summer as the fuel with ethanol evaporats out of the hot carb bowl more, so yer filling the float bowl again after you’ve eaten your bowl of...

    Finally using non ethanol fuel

I’ve been using non-ethanol in my classics for 3 years now. The results have been great, and I pay a significant ~$1 more per gallon for 92 non ethanol, but it’s worth every penny. Alcohol is hydroscopic and absorbs water, bringing rust and sludge into the fuel system. My carbs don’t gum up...

I thought only 915s were closed chamber?

Saw this in the local CL and I was confused (lol, not that ever happens). Is the 516 any good for performance or a boat anchor? https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/pts/d/marysville-mopar-closed-chamber-heads/7357414970.html

    Engine weights across manufacturers

I was looking for a basic weight on a “B” engine and came across this. The numbers after the weight appear to be dimensions. Also the list predates the Gen 3 HEMI, and I don’t see the LS, or Coyote. Chevy small block V8 575 (generic for '60s-'70s motors) Chevy small block V8 535 ('59 Corvette...

Rant: Auto parts store employees can really be useless sometimes

Haha, We’ve all had similar experiences. My last one was buying some spark plugs on a Friday night. I wanted RC12YC, but one step colder. I told the kid I don’t care about brand, heat range more important, just wanted to get the car going....*blank stare*...”what year and make of the car...
