1970 RR Fender Tag Question for the experts

You absolutely did, and I insisted on "helping you" by wrongly assuming the Satellite had the signals on the fenders, not the hood! As stated, I stand corrected, BUT I learned something, so that is not a bad thing! :)

318 guys- you know your fuel mileage ?

My 70 Road Runner with a 500 Cubic inch torque monster (675 lb ft of torque) made 16.9 MPG on the highway coming home from the 2023 Power Tour. Our average speed was in the mid 70's, with most of the last couple of hours at 80 MH. I was impressed! Yes, I have a .7:1 Passion A-855 overdrive...

1970 RR Fender Tag Question for the experts

Thanks - I stand corrected and corrected my post as well. I honestly have never seen 1970 Satellite with them, and I (obviously incorrectly) assumed Mopar would stick them where they placed almost all others. Seems a weird and more complex place to put them!

1970 RR Fender Tag Question for the experts

That's because a Satellite or Sport Satellite did not have the power bulge hood. The hood mounted turn signals mount in the back of the bulge, so Satellite/ Sport had to get them in the fenders hood. As a reminder, here is a picture of mine I found while restoring it.

Pics from Back in the Day

Yeah, there were no pictures, only blank posts with a picture file listing, but no picture. I deleted the posts that had nothing.

I love the Daytona pulling a matching winged boat!

Cool list. Two things I noticed: 1) A 440 Cuda ran 14.01. Pretty darn close to 13's! 2) A rambler 390 ran 14.2. That would have put it fifth in this whole list of cars. Not too bad! My father-in-law had been building high performance engines for almost 60 years - he owns a speed shop. Anyway...

    70 RR 383 with a 3 spd manual trans.

I know that 3 speeds became standard in 1970, but I believe 3 speed Road Runners are fairly rare. My guess it was a way for Chrysler to increase the profit by making the 4 speed optional, and since most wanted a 4 speed, that would increase the 'real' price while keeping the base MSRP low.

    My '70 Road Runner

I think the 70-72 Air Grabber hoods where a scoop opens up out of the hood (by using a big, red switch) has to be one of the coolest options EVER built into a car by the factory!

I hate to say it, but Chevy's cowl induction really was a superior way to "ram" air into the car. Cars like my Air Grabber look cool as hell, but they really don't do to much to ram the air in - the scoop is too low. They do at least provide cooler air though...

At least in my area, it was common for guys to only have mag wheels for the rear and stock rims for the front - new aluminum slotted rims were expensive! But, they were "required" on any car to make it cooler. Yes, I have to admit: I even put a set (only on the rear) on a 4 door /6 Dodge Dart...

    Replacement VIN tag

I think ECS is the company that does this. Mopar I saw door decals (which I got from them for my car), but not an actual VIN plate. Maybe best to call them with your situation.

Wheel change on my 70 B5 Roadrunner

I prefer the road wheels on my 70 RR as well... (although you can't go wrong with Rally wheels either - it really is just personal preference...)

    My '70 Road Runner

Looks like a nice car to work with. It's a California car with turn down exhaust (rather than tips) - IIRC that is what N97 shows.

It's not the voltage that kills you, but the amps... At 1-4.3 amps "rhythmic pumping of the heart ceases, and death is likely". Although unlikely, humans have died from shocks with as little as 42 volts. Avoid situations where the current could flow from your one hand to your other, grounded...

Kevin Hart’s “New” ‘69 Road Runner.

Kevin Hart is a comedian turned actor. He has been in a lot of movies and (I'm sure) is quite rich. Kevin Hart did NOT crash his 'Cuda. A friend of his was "test driving" it and Kevin Hart was in the passenger seat. The driver lost control and went off the road and there were injuries. I am not...
