Another option is to use a small block 727 and a Gear Vendor's overdrive. That is what I have done in my 73 Road Runner. In theory, you can split each gear to make the 727 effectively a 6 speed, but I have not found that to be realistic. 90%+ of the time, I simply use it as an overdrive once I...
Mine's lucky to get 18 MPG highway running 75-77 MPH. But that is with "up to" 10% ethanol and my truck has the 3.92 (maybe 3.91 - don't remember exactly) optional rear and lots of other weight, so I'd assume it will suffer from those options.
Understood. I figured (and confirmed later by the...
I have an e-Torque in my RAM (not planning to remove it by the way).
Some pros of the system are that the start stop system works well. I seriously HATE every start stop system I have ever driven; they suck. But this one doesn't, because it uses the "alternator" to start the truck back up...
I have a RAM with the e-torque. In addition to what you list, the special battery should also be removed (I think it might be behind the rear seat?). The e-torque also moves from 8 to 4 cylinder operation during low demand periods. I'm not sure if that is simply software controlled or if there...
Per the article: "While it’s confirmed to be a no-cut fit for E-bodies, B-body tunnels will require a bit of massaging to gain the TKX’s extra gear."
Now I just wonder what "a bit of massaging" means? I can't help but be cautious and even a bit cynical about that statement. When I installed my...
The TKX seems like a really nice transmission. Strong and small.
Where does the shifter sit? Can you put it in the stock location or does it sit in-line to the transmission?
I installed a FAST EFI system. It was not easy, but most of the issues related to an ECU problem. I hate to say it, but I don't recommend it. My system also controls timing though, so that added some complexity.
An EFI system, regardless of what you choose, needs to be thoughtfully and...

I would add that if this car is going to be a daily or frequent driver, then the advantages of the new Hemi are greater. If you will only drive it occasionally, then you will do a lot of work for very limited reasons IMHO.
By the way, I WILL judge - NICE CAR!
