I am new at this...so here it goes. I just finished restoring the dash on my 68...is there a way to test the gauges (fuel,temp,alt,tach) prior to installing the dash back in the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I considered that...I'ts a 3 speed switch and I am a little nervous. Just curious if someone has already gone down this road once before. Thank you for the suggestion...might be the only way.

Sorry...should have been more clear...I am wanting to remove the "entire toggle from the switch" so that I can replace it with a newly chromed toggle. Thanks in advance....
