What ever you do , don’t look at the mag 500 wheel vintiques welds , I had terrible set new in box , looked like first year vocational agricultural welding student, full of 3/16” slag pockets and mucho start stops and undercut! Ask me how I know! AWS -CWI inspector!
That’s all fine and dandy , no other tires on my 67 Gtx, after the redlines, but Michelins! Sold the car in 70 , due to family necessity!Maybe they had another number, as in the HR something x 14” , can’t recall ! Maybe that’s the issue! Stating wrong sizing, just to try and clarify!
They were definitely Michelins and radials and best I can remember, tube type , could have been a year later , but all else is accurate, to my best recall!
In 68 , I put new set of Michelins on my 67 Gtx, after the redlines, got used up , 255x on rear 225x on frt ! I seem to remember those being tube type tires and maybe natural rubber ! May be wrong, but for a street car , once lite up , they would really bite ! But very expensive, for a kid...
About wheels from Summit, recently decided to replace my magnum 500’s on my Gtx 67 with fresh ones , the replacements were of course made by Wheel Vintiques and were 15x7” as were my other set , the old set were pretty true running and the welds on back were very nice and uniform , no flaws ...
