    Core support paint question.

The black out behind the grill is just supposed to cover the grill area, but some got more than others.

    Console Brackets and Dash Pad

It's much easier to install the dash pad before the dash is installed and a real PITA to do when the dash is in, but it can be done. I'm not sure on a 65, but 66-67 console brackets are different between an automatic and 4-speed.

Small but pleasing surprise during engine change

Nice. Things were built to last back then, no throw away junk as today. They don't even want things for core exchange today.

Racing a Post or Hardtop, is one better ?

68 Hemi Dart, cool no matter how you look at it.

Racing a Post or Hardtop, is one better ?

The post car is structurally stronger and has a very slight advantage in weight distribution. When you add frame connectors you add weight, but eliminate some body flex. I wouldn't race a convertible without frame connectors and the advantage would be in weight distribution if you are allowed to...

Should you just start out by buying what you've always wanted? Is it cheaper that way? 1964 B Body

I'm waiting for the Flux capacitor and hover conversion for my Hemi GTX.

Welcome from Alabama, even if I sold everything, I believe I would still try to help with the questions here.

    Fuel gauge dilemma

Look in the connector you removed. Needle nose pliers and pull it out. That's the most probable place.

Repair the one pin, and check the others. Just a small sordering iron, sorder, and some care.

62-65s being crushed vintage yard in socal

At 3-5 cents a pound, for someone that could buy the whole yard, there is a fortune to be made in dismantling them and selling parts. Just my thoughts.

Great job. The early interiors are fantastic even if not original color combo.

    62 63 64 MAX WEDGE CARS

The best I have come up with in research is that the Max Wedge cars without scoops had the X braces hacked out. Nothing nice, just hacked out for hood clearance. My 62 hood is the best of 2 hoods, with fabrication to make it look factory. I say some fabrication, there is close to 300 hours in it.

Factory Front to Rear Ride Height Difference - 1964 Polara

Actual ride height, I don't know, but most sat basically level front to rear from the factory. The rake was a hot rodding thing to which most of us subscribed, if only a bigger tire on the back.

    10" poverty hub caps

You have a picture of what they look like? I don't know that I have any, but do have some that I have not researched.

    Rear shocks

Don't spend a bundle on rear shocks unless you are going for something special. Monroe has great shocks for a modest price.

Tell me if my thoughts make sense

The driver's side drum on my 56 Desoto took 4 days to release. Every day I would come in and smack the puller with a 3lb hammer. On the 4th day I was doing something else and had already smacked on the puller, when it sounded like a shotgun went off in the shop. The other side only took about...

Tell me if my thoughts make sense

Someone may know more than me on this, but I think 62-67 width is the same. 68-70 is a little wider. I'm not sure from there.
