The 361 that is in your car will fit you needs. Why not rebuild?
If not rebuild a crate long block from someone lime CME, MRI (a For B Bodies supporter) or others would fill your wants and keep the car stock looking.
I think they will fit. On my 66 Charger I have 18X9.5 wheels with 4.75" of backspacing and 285/35/18"s. On the rear I have over an inch on either side of the wheel left in the wheel well. If I could have gotten the Craggar SS rims in 10 or 11 widths I would have gone with a 305 to start with and...
I called my local O'reillys and they do not list the vent hose and can not cross reference the part number. I did get the 2" hose from O'reillys.
Napa could not cross the number or look it up by application.
This is posted in the 66-67 Charger area also but here is my 1966 Charger. The 440 is waiting the final wash and assembly, 727 was rebuilt 2 years ago, Hotchkis TVS with Firm Feel bars and moog misc parts, Wilwood 13" rotors and 6 piston calipers front, 12" and 4 piston rears, with 7/8 Wilwood...
For reasale body work and nice paint will bring you more money than drivetrain. Most people (me included) can do the mechancial with no problems but hate body work.
But if you are going to keep it, I would fix the drive train and put the money into the tank.
What will it take to get yours running and reliable in dollars? what is is worth as it sits? What about registration?
What does the red car need? registration, tune up, tires brakes looked at?
Write down what each needs with an estimated dollar value and see which is the better deal...
T56, T56 Magnum (6 speed), TKO 5 speed, Passone Performance 5 speed.
The Passon Performance is a direct bolt in but not cheap.
The TKO needs some floor mods.
The T56 and T56Magnum need major floor mods to include cutting and replacing part of the torsion bar crossmember. But you can get...
I think it is worth $50 bucks. I will be over to get it this weekend.
It sounds like you are on the right track. Post a ton of pics and descritptions and you will get some good but variying opinions on fair value here on the board.
The shifter can be unbolted and one made or purchased to lean the correct way for you. You could also go to a hydraulic clutch and do away from the linkage.
Thank you for the compliments. It is a work in progress and a daily driver. I will be going with larger tires and rims for better braking and handling. With the 225's that are on it now, they have a hard time stopping the car in a panic stop. I have had one close call where there tires where...
The difference isn't fair to the original suspension. When I got the car it neededed lots of help. The car came off of the transport idling around 4K. The rest of the car was in about the same mechanical shape but has a great body with very little rust.
As of today I still need to get my...
I did a Hotchkis TVS suspension with Firm Feel torsion bars for 3k or so. All poly bushings, new ball joints, idler and pitman arm, all new or rebuilt.
Aluminum heads, intake, water pump, water pump housing, radiator, new style compressor for A/C. I am not sure of the weight savings but there it is considerable.
For suspension there is Hotchkis, Firm Feel for stock style. RMS, CAP, XV and one more that I can't remember for coil over style...
I love it. I have to watch my speed with the tall gears I hit 80 all the time and have to slow down. I don't have the front sway bar on or sub frame connectors (no welder) but still am loving in.
This car was purchased out of Alabama off of this site. It had a 318 (died shortly after I got...
