I have the factory T10 in my 63'. The 2nd owner installed it behind a 440 with ported 906 heads and a purple cam back in the 90s. It's a good transmission that has somehow survived slicks.
I would put it back into the ecosystem. Someone that is restoring another 63 could definitely use it.
Never had a problem with a 440 Source kit before. I've built a 496, 500, and 512 using their products.
I also really like Ohio Crankshaft. I've been using their crank/rods assemblies for the last few SB and BB motors I've built. I believe the foundry they use is in the USA.
If it drops again, check plugs first. Then the PCV valve. If all is fine, drain the oil and cut the filter to look for material.
If all is still fine, try a different gauge.
That would be my order of operations.
Before you go through all of the trouble, I'd get in there with a measuring tape and see if it's actually crooked or an optical illusion.
You can do this by running a string from the center of the radiator core support to the center of the firewall. Then measure your carb studs on the intake...
