Can someone please show where the emergency brake bracket should be located on the floor pan?
looked at a bunch of diagrams and can't find the location of where it should welded.
This is for a 70 RR.
thanks, Joe
The floor wiring covers need to be welding in place before you install the floor pan, Correct?
Looks like the wiring cover tabs were welded under the floor pan when I removed it, but want to make sure.
Thanks, Joe
Hello, I put the new floor pan in my 70RR and already welded the 4 speed hump in place. I also mounted the 833 tailshaft with shifter to make sure everything lined up.
Everything lines up great and when i go under the car the to mark the pan to drill holes I see there's a gap between the front...
Both the lower door hinges on my 70 RR have cracks on the same place at the hinge spring hole (circled in each photo).
The hinges appear to be in good condition, can i just weld up the cracks after rebuilding them or should they be replaced?
thanks, J
I can raise the door is not a problem, when i move the door up the gap for the rocker increases.
I'd like to see some pictures for what is acceptable. I assume the cowl to door should be flush.
I in the process of getting the metal work done on my 70 Roadrunner and trying to making sure panels line up before I make the permanent welds.
I need some pictures of the correct cowl to door and fender alignment.
What I have is low probably 1/16 or so and the door has to come up a bit (circled...
I have the new outer rocker installed but not welded and the rocker to door bottom gap is 3/8 inches. The rear quarter and cowl gaps look good, is there a trick to closing the gap for the rocker to door bottom? I can try moving up the weld loctions on the bottom inner rocker but wanted to check...
I removed the transmission mount hangers to check for scale and see if everything was still solid, the torsion bar looks good. I'm seriously considering sticking with the original, but have to make a decision quickly. this is the side that looks the worst.
I understand e-coat is a rustproof coat to protect bare metal, how to you guys treat the e-coat?
Scuff the e-coat and paint over or remove e-coat and then paint?
thanks, J
I'm considering buying a pressure blasting pot, not sure there's a clean way to blast the car without the neighbors seeing it and worried they'll complain.
My setup is just like yours, on a rotisserie with the floor plan removed. Not to many people that offer blasting in my area, the dustless blasting company comes right to my house.
Ok I ordered one from AMD it's on back order I until 09/09. We'll see how it turns out. I can handle a side to side different, but the sockets holes have to be good. Then again I'm not sure the holes in the original are not twisted.
