Kind of tough to explain. Once the tool is hooked on the clip, don't lift away from the windshield, twist the tool to the side so it is pulling the clip towards the glass and away from the moulding. In the first picture twist the tool counter clockwise.

Not for sure, the picture looks like the ears on the K frame are spread apart some. Thinking once it is tightened down the ears will bend back and clamp the idler in place. Don't think there would be washers between the idler and K frame. Not 100% sure though.
Looks like the passenger side of the opening has been hacked out. Just guessing...car probably came with a 22" radiator originally and someone opened it up to fit a 26"
When is all said and done, yes you will need a starter relay, it will feed the smaller stud on the starter. For now you can run your jumper to the + of the coil for the ignition. The remote starter button, one lead to +12 volts, probably the battery, the other lead to the small stud on the...
Yes, they are a problem child. Replace both in the wifes 01 sebring convert and the daughters 04 sebring sedan. Yours looks way better than the ones in the daughters car!
