    The 625 CFM Carter AVS carb was original on 383 4bbl cars, so no jet changes required. If you can find a good used original carb it will work really good right out of the box.

    This Mopar M1 aluminum RB intake manifold is the only one that is the stock height, it has an operating range from idle to 5800 rpm part# P4529118 Last produced late 1990s but I have seen used ones for sale.

    Yes the AVS2 carburetor will fit an original intake manifold, and the spacer will also fit both carburetors. The AVS2 is really an AFB carb.

    My car ran too rich with the same mechanical fuel pump when I replaced it there was no more running too rich.

    That looks like a hi-po Carter fuel pump it can put out 7-1/2 psi plus an electric fuel pump that could be why it's running too rich.

    On my 440 4 speed car I used a Edelbrock performer intake 2191 with a ThermoQuad carb the range is idle to 5000 it made a ridiculous amount of torque. I never tried the RPM intake.
