I’ve always done it like Halifaxhops described. Just to add I also try to remove most of the fluid in the master cylinder and refill before vacuuming each bleeder. This way you don’t have to pull all the old fluid and potentially any debris all the way through the lines.
My 68 Coronet originally had a 318. It’s had a 440 and now a 528 hemi with a 4 speed. It hasn’t had a 318 for probably 25 plus years. I don’t have torque boxes added to my car. Mine is only a street car but I have flogged it. I’m not aware any issues so far.
I’m sure I’ve tightened some shocks without the full vehicle weight. Haven’t had any issues either way.
I’m running KYB shocks on my 68 coronet. Mine is just a cruiser so they are ok. If I was going to go for better handling on my car I would upgrade to a better shock.
