Same gasket I used with my engine with same heads. Non issue.

Stock stroke 440 - Scrounging for power

Your set up with a 100 shot of NOS should put you in the 11s. I ran a similar set up with less gear, 355s, and the purple shaft 557 solid cam and ran 12.26 and 11.70s with 100 shot. The stock forged bottom end is enough to get where you want to go.

    Welp...727 no reverse? No wonder!

Looks like the low reverse band anchor broke. Trans has to come out if that is what I’m seeing’s. Good news though they are the easiest to build.

    727 paper/rubber kit identification

If it leaked when sitting for a while and the inside of the bell housing was dry then it’s most likely the shift lever seals or the dipstick tube seal. There is a tool available to remove and install the shift lever seal without removing the valve body. I usually remove the VB as it’s not to...

Going back to 3:23 from 3:91 Tech help and opinions needed

I’ve swapped out plenty of units and it’s not really hard. Like dvw said mark the caps to there side. Then I check backlash and pattern. You can use a piece of newspaper and spin it thru the ring and pinion and look at the marks it leaves. (I don’t remember where I read that trick but it...

    How do I fix this.

There is a seal and washer that goes on top before the e clip. I agree with above that you shouldn’t need to drop the VB just the pan. The clip probably wasn’t installed because it won’t get into the pan from the outside. Not a big deal to fix just an inconvenience.

Powertrax Loc Rite? Anyone use it, Pros/Cons

Ok I didn’t know it needed to be a bare case to do the job correctly. Thanks for your input.

Powertrax Loc Rite? Anyone use it, Pros/Cons

I agree 5.7, but set up costs and added installation parts will drive up the total. The powertrax unit installs in place of the spider gears eliminating the need to set up the gears. I’m still trying to work out The many details involved in any project. If money wasn’t an issue I would just...

Powertrax Loc Rite? Anyone use it, Pros/Cons

I think Eaton makes the powertrax Loc Rite you can put in an open carrier. I looks like a locker only smaller. Anyone know anything about them? I found a few reviews but wounder if anyone here has tried it. I found a couple of truck danas locally and a shop in the area will cut to size put...

Found ford truck dana 60 what do I need to know

I am starting to research putting a truck dana in my car. I think I saw that someone said that what they did. I hav a line on 2 for dana 60s for 500. It sound like a good deal, both have 410s and one has limited slip but ring and pinion is bad. I thought I would take the other ring and...

Hydraulic clutch set up- non Mopar but Mopar related..

I googled that swap and it came up with info on an added bracket needed at the master cylinder push rod to pedal connection. I don know if it's your issue but look it up .https://www.cartechbooks.com/techtips/ls-swaps-transmission-and-clutch-guide/ Edit; It's at the bottom part of the article

Hydraulic clutch set up- non Mopar but Mopar related..

If you still have the set clearance at the disk then I would say you are right to look at the input shaft pilot bushing. Does it stay engaged enough to shut down the engine? Or just make noise? Did the engine and trans come from the same doner vehicle? When you pull it out again I would look...

    Build My Big Block

I would get an 833 w/overdrive and swap the gears and nothing else. If you had to build another engine the Kieth Black pistons can handle nitrous along with stock forged rods and crank.

    Quick question

I have used a cast crank with the heavy 6 pack rods and pistons in an engine I had to rebuild. I didn't have it balanced either, it had a vibration at 3000 rpm but I ran it like that anyway. It was before I knew that the 6 pack engine had special internal parts. It never failed even...

1.5 or 1.6 ratio on new RPM heads?

I tried 1.6 rockers on my Eddy RPMS but they hit the push rod opening so they would have to be opened open if you use them. I don't think you need them though I'm using isky iron rockers with a small duration high lift cam without any rocker issues. I did have multiple retainer failure from...
