Recently did my drum brakes for the 1st time ever. Take plenty of pictures before you start. little details like which spring gets hooked from the bottom of the stud while the other goes over the top will save you a lot of time. Don't sweat it, take your time and rely on the photos. Good Luck.
I just read about the 128 rule today and watched several of his videos. Just for fun, I used his formulas for my stock 383 and came out with a desirable lsa of 103, and intake duration of 241.
Has anyone tried a cam with these specs and how did it turn out? Currently have a Lunati with 110 lsa...
Michael, us hobbyists have all had many days like you did. The secret is very simple. Keep a refrigerator or ice chest in the garage. If you notice, most guys have a refrigerator because ice eventually melts in the ice chest. Right after you've shouted every bad cuss word you can link together...
Follow your hunch about not firing properly. Check spark to all cylinders, pull plugs, check distributor, loose connections at coil. Lift off air cleaner and observe fuel being delivered properly at idle and increase rpms to check if it stays normal. Basically, check all the things you need to...
Can't tell you exactly what size it is but approx. 1 1/2" long and I believe fine threads and around 1/8"dia. I've replaced that turn signal switch once about 4-5 years ago. I looked at my fsm and can't find any reference to it's size. Youtube'd a guy replacing a switch assy and caught a quick...
Not kidding about the rooster comb. It is inside the transmission and it rotates as you select a different setting with shift lever. click on 'search forums' and enter rooster comb.
I don't agree completely that the end of the assembly line was the dumping ground because the 3 I found were in the back or bottom of the seats. I was thinking that after the seats were manufactured, that's where the confusion took place. Has anyone ever gotten no build sheet in their car. If I...
When a tore my '70 charger apart, I also had 3 build sheets. 1 for this car and the other 2. They were not consecutive vin #s, not even close. As Kern said it was built in St. Lou. Makes you wonder what the hell was going on in that plant. mine and 1 other was ff4 paint, while the 3rd was ef8...
Hey Jim, Great looking '63 Dart. I learned to drive in a '63 GT Dart. I always said Darts were the 1st "pony cars". they were on the streets 1 1/2 years before the stangs showed up. 2nd car I ever owned was a '64 dart vert, just like yours only red. Great memories.
Beautiful looking car, appears to be well taken care of. I agree that advance should be somewhat advanced from 0, but I agree with you that with a jumpy vacuum gauge I would look into the possibility of a vacuum leak first. I had a /6 in a '64 dart vert once upon a time but it never sounded like...
When I was in the Navy, a shipmate had a 8 track stereo setup in his '65 gto. Don't know if it was factory option or custom. I only remember that it was the best sound in a car that I ever heard and that was in '67. It wasn't til the early '80s when it seemed like everybody was getting cassette...
I'm asking when did any type of tape player was first offered as an option on mopars. The topic came up in @MoparGuy68 thread about the accuracy of Motor Trend Mag. about the options on his '71 Charger. I never had anything more than a am/fm radio in any of my cars until 1983 when I upgraded my...
Did you check the fuses to see if any blew, " no lights ". How did the battery wire break off the Alt, thats a pretty sturdy wire usually held on by a nut. Do you mean one of the field wires? You stated you have power to the battery, the battery is the power. If the engine isn't running and the...
