If you’re trying to keep condensation at bay, you could look into using Golden Rods, they come in varying wattages and last a very long time. I‘ve used them on boats to keep blocks and pumps from freezing.
Ray built it, but you should talk to knowledgeable people on what will work for your end result wanted. And machine work done correctly is very important.
I’d second that, I got a 540 Hemi from Ray, KB block, Edelbrock heads, Molnar crank and rods, 10.5 Diamond pistons, Barton’s rocker system. The cam that’s in yours sounds like about the same as in mine. Great guy to work with and very knowledgeable.
I’ve got one on my 540, Ray Barton puts one on every engine he builds. Haven’t changed oil but once on it, so not a lot of feed back here. Looks like a well made filter assembly. Reasonably compact, but kinda pricey.
RB903CH-1 on the lifters, the cam is a Bullet, I don’t believe it’s nitrites. I think the RB on the lifters refers to Ray Barton special order, but I don’t believe they are any different from the stock Trend Elites.
I have the Trend Elite tool steel lifters, the non EDM version. Ray Barton put them in when he built my engine. He swears by them and he builds a lot of engines. He says you can even change the cam and reuse the lifters.
I have Trend tool steel non-coated non EDM lifters that Ray Barton put in my engine. He said they’re way better than normal. But the price is much higher. He doesn’t have any issues with break-in eating cams.
My blue shifter was by Keisler, SST put the new and much better shifter on. I had the trans out anyway as I was putting in a new engine. I think you could put the new shifter in without removing the trans. I had the carbon fiber synchros put in while they had it. I dropped it off on the way to...
My Keisler TKO 600 had the blue shifter, same 2-3 shift problems everyone complains about. I took it to SST, they put their new shifter on plus the carbon fiber synchros with the brass fork tabs instead of the nylon tabs. Shifts like it ought to now.
I didn’t change anything but the clutch and pressure plate assembly. It has the hydraulic clutch setup. I hope that the clutch gets a little less grabby with time. It seems to lock up well with no slip though. The original clutch that came with the trans wasn’t worth much.
I just got the new 540 Hemi in the Satellite running Sunday. While the drivetrain was out I took the 12 year old Keisler tranny to Silver Sport and had the carbon fiber synchros and their new shift mechanism put in. What a difference that made in 2nd to 3rd shifting, no more leaks, hesitation or...
